The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I'll still be dressed as Recondo G.I. JOE, but I'm game.

Works for me Dom.

Also I have just realised I have no gloves sorted out. Does anyone have a spare set of large gloves I can use for the parade please?

It's in the Marriott in the main atrium.

Flag poles etc. have been checked and are accounted for.

This is what 'I' will be bringing to the parade so if anything else is needed we need to sort that out now and not the morning of.

1x large flag pole with eagle topper
5x smaller flag poles with all connectors
1x US flag (50 states, I counted them)
4x pairs of 'one size' white gloves (washed and cleaned)
1x white flag pole holster (with plastic cap)
1x Aliens Legacy banner (with various U*CM logos)

I'll also bring clear tape along with electrical tape as we had issues with the eagle topper last year.

I ONLY have the US flag, not the USCM flag or any other nations flags.

Works okay for me, too. See you all there at 19:00 on Friday then.

Congratulations to all new Color/Honor Guard members who stepped up this year. I salute you on a job well done!

Aaron, the FB discussion is not an attack on you. We're just doing what cosplayers do, we talk about the nerdy details. Its all in good faith. Not a single person here would even suggest any disrespect. Your reasons are well justified and you made us proud.

As I mentioned before, the Color Guard positions are not permanent. We don't claim exclusive rights to it. We can keep open discussion on how it should be done and who gets a turn. The AL is for everyone here!

Hmm... I wonder how Abe would look in Charlies? LOL!

Anyone with Service C's or Blues is welcome to join in the front. There are still a few countries that lacked representation this year... France, Germany, Australia and Hungary come to mind.

To caveat on Paul's comments:

1. That's the overall goal. This years color guard was nearly 100%. Uniforms are always improving each year. I need to improve mine as well. Its a work in progress. (I was extremely pleased to see ALL color guard members in dress uniform this year! An AL FIRST! Compare pics from years past and you can see an impressive evolution of our color guard.)
2. Back ups are a good idea. You never know when a CG member might fall ill, injured or some other snafu. Someone else to substitute would be necessary.
3. AL members are encouraged to volunteer CG duty. I don't own my position in the Color Guard, nor do I want to. I'd love to march in armor again soon!
