The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

As a 'I play a marine at conventions' I haven't the first clue on military protocol when it comes to parading and the color guard.

Dom and the color guards professionalism blew me away and I think for a 'make believe' military unit we came off as looking pretty damn good in the videos I've seen. If people didn't know I'd say they were saluting the military and we just happened to be the group following behind much like the Predators were following behind us.

Now this is due to a) Dom's leadership and b) Tony's flagpoles and gloves etc giving us the professional appearance as well.

Hats off to all of you.....you did us BEYOND proud!!

For me this year was the best. Except for the kidney stones and feeling like shit sometimes, the time spent with you guys made up for it. Even though my facial hair went thru 7 different colors this year I prefer to stay out of the light and just watch everyone. The pics and video show the fun everyone had. I am lucky enough to live down here close to Amy and got to go to the BBQ last night. It was fantastic! Gareth truly deserves the recognition he was given cause without him allot of this would not happen! Cannot wait to see everyone again!

Thanks!

Greg

Heads up to Rex. After talking with Tony, the group clown costumes are very much on for next year. I am counting on your ass being down here. I have picked Capt Spaulding.

The color guard did an excellent job at the parade and I'm very proud of how they executed it and Dom did a great job with leading the color guard. The rest of us could barely keep a straight line and when we had to turn a corner, it as not in a orderly nor military fashion. We were pretty much in "route step" the entire parade, only the color guard was in step. With the varying speed the parade was traveling, Dom kept the Color Guard coordinated so we didn't plow into or get to far apart from the Frakkin' Dragons in front of us. Great job Dom and Great job Color Guard.

The obvious advantages of having a real marine lead the color guard.

I was feeling very awesome walking behind our color guard. It was a very proud day for me to be marching with all of you, and seeing the US flag and the flags of our visiting member's nations leading the parade contributed to that pride greatly. So even if the rest of us couldn't stop from bunching up here and there, our color guard kept perfect step, and represented the very best of every last geek in that parade. 8)
