The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Not sure why you posted in the Canadian section  , but the UKCM carry rules are here:

viewtopic.php?p=174925#p174925

Basic stuff is; empty magazine, no battery or gas, don't point the weapon at anyone unless specifically requested to for a photo, no finger on trigger.

You can ask on the DragonCon parade Yahoo group (you'll have to search for it as I don't have the link handy) but common sense is a great starting point.

If it has an orange barrel tip - leave it there.
Other than that PVB got it!!

Almost forgot; You may get your triggers peace-bonded with cable ties by D*C security, but they don't do every weapon, so if the trigger is easily breakable, take care and maybe ask them if you can do it yourself.

I have always added the tie myself. Never had any issues and had pistols/MP9 there. PVB has hit all the points. Mike's M240 I have has the carry handle peace bonded with a tie so not all the staff know what they are doing.

Thanks!

Greg

In 12 years of attending DragonCon is all sorts of costumes with all sorts of weapons, I've never had one of them peace bound.

Kevin had his Rambo/Billy from Predator gun peace-bonded to hell and back a few years ago.

Yep...

Like this-

Image

(I have a better pic, but it's on my old harddrive right now, waiting to be migrated)

Anyway it's cut out of the picture but there is this GIANT orange plug (like the size of my fist!) sticking out of the shotgun barrel (which has been zip-tied to the shotgun). The shotgun and M4 triggers were peacebonded as well. There was also a fourth orange zip-tie around the shotgun barrel itself to indicate the weapon had been inspected by D-Con security.

It was ridiculous overkill.

So I've been told.

As for the knives- the survival knife on my webbing was a kid's toy plastic knife (like those old hollow ones you could buy at a dollar store) that I painted silver to look a little more real. The machete on my hip was made of cardboard.

Oh and I found a better pic of the plug- from Steve's (PVB) album:
