There was footage?

I thought that was a rumor!

OH, the ones who don't have to mess with the footage get to laugh about it? Drop and give me 20!
I'll take a 10 and a couple fives, but no pocket change.
I'm sorry for the delays. Work has been hell and believe it or not I AM mostly done with the bloody project. I have about 300 hours into editing this damn thing. 300 hours for 60 seconds of finished FX footage. Now I know why it took 2 years for the second Hulk movie to get into theaters.
I pretty much know what I'm doing now with the FX editing. Only took me 2 months to get to this point though.
If you guys are serious about doing another "serious" sweep for filming purposes, here's an editor's wish list...
1) If you're pretending to shoot your weapon. STOP shaking your weapon every so often. Seriously. Nobody fires full auto that much in reality. Not even Hicks and Hudson. Vasquez... well, that's another story.
2) Watch where you're aiming. Even though it's a fake gun, if it was real you'd be burning... important parts of each other's anatomy... with a weapon that shoots 3 feet of fire out the muzzle.
3) Cutaways. SHOOT THEM. Even documentary filmmakers shoot "extra" footage that can be intercut with the "interesting" parts. Maybe get the Alien to attack from a different direction, or different people... instead of being in the center of the action.
I realize it's a "live set," but there has to be a way.
3b) If possible, have more than one camera running. If you have 2 squads, stick a camera with each squad. Or, go back and film with the second squad after the fact. It can be added in later to appear like it's happening at the same time.
4) SHUT. OFF. THE. MOTION. TRACKERS. Dear god, make it stop.
The sound FX of the MR tracker is it's worst point when you're just plain 'ol doing a sweep. The frakking tracker is ALWAYS going off.
It gets redundant after a while.
Hudson: "I'm getting movement!"
Hicks: "No kidding Sherlock, you're in a convention hall with 900 other people!"
Other than that... no problemo.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'll go back to editing.
