The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hmmm... I'm not sure.

To be safe- I will say anyone wearing a costume that will be with us whether they are taking pictures/video or not, will have to wear a parade ribbon.

I've ordered 40 ribbons just in case.

If you are standing off to the sidelines, with the general public, I'm sure that's not a problem. But if you are out on the street walking with us- yeah I think you need a parade ribbon.

Will 40 be enough?

Cherie and Suzie may be joining us also, but they don't post.

Last head count is up to 21 (not including Cherie and Suzie). So unless 18 more people suddenly emerge, I can't see it being a problem.

I just heard back from Jan about the 40 ribbon confirmation. Should I email back for 50? :(

Considering that we average 20 a year- it is incredible!

Let's just see if everyone shows up at 8:45am after a long bout of heavy drinking Friday night. Not to mention attending the BLT Con-slut party.

7am is the insane time Dom wants us to fall in for breakfast.

The parade starts moving at 10am.

Forming up in the staging area (Woodruff park) is from 9am to approx 9:45 latest.

So I figure meeting together at 8:45 is good enough to have plenty of time to get together and arrive as a group at the park.

Just in case some people are too hungover (or tired from driving 18hrs the previous night) to drag themselves out of bed at what? 6:45 in morning on Saturday?

Blah. I just got my schedule for the con, and I have a panel Saturday morning at 10am. So it looks like I won't be able to make the Parade this year!

Unless you guys are really slow and don't start moving until 11am.

For some reason I can only make the parade every other year. Why is that?

And it figures that this is the year I shipped down my full armor with helmet, and Pulse Rifle just so I would have it in the parade.

:(

If there's any rain I will not be able to participate in the parade. There's a lot of flexbond on my suit and I will start to melt. I've sprayed a coat of protectant but I can't take a chance that I'd be protected.

ATM long range forecasts are calling for thunderstorms in Atlanta. I'm praying for NO RAIN!

If it rains I'll still be at the con to be the bug for any sweep.

I trust weather reporters to successfully predict the weather as much as I would next week's lottery numbers.

It has never rained the morning of the parade in the four years I've been at D-Con. Let's worry about that the day of the parade. :)

Hmmmm, hadn't planned on spraying a sealer on my armor...any of you guys do that?

Negative, Ghostrider. The pattern is full.

But I'm with Kevin on the fact that we'll jump off that bridge when we come to it. IMHO, no amount of sealant is going to protect my armor to my satisfaction, so I'm not going to worry with it.

We had this conversation a couple of years back about rain the day of the parade:

A light drizzle- we're going.

Inclement rain- still going.

Steady (but light) rain- group's call (majority wins)

Downpour- forget it (I believe I read somewhere that if it is a heavy shower the parade will be cancelled anyway).

But again- we can worry about this Saturday.
