The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I tried to book Marriott. Tried website and called at 8am. Website was flooded and phone lines busy. When the smoke cleared (at about 8:15), all rooms SOLD OUT! I had to reserve room at regular rate! Fracking con geeks sucked up all the rooms. Did anyone have any luck with the Marriott?

The UKCM have a few rooms booked.

Since I am unsure about numbers attending from this side of the pond, I can't make a 100% promise or offer you a whole room but I will stick you on my list.

Let me know if you make other arrangements!

You think that's bad... I won't know until July or August if I can even go (due to Drill Schedule).

Which gives me a number of weeks to scramble and panic to find someone with a spare spot for me.

I wanted the Marriott also but was afraid of this. That is why I made reservations at the Hilton again before I left DC this year.

Thanks!

The Hilton turned out to be an ideal place to stay. Nowhere near as crowded as the Hyatt or Marriott, rooms were relatively quiet and using the streets was a lot faster than navigating the masses of bodies jamming the skyways and hotel floors during peak traffic. I'm definitely into staying there again next year!

Bingo! I'm glad I had a quiet room in the Hilton.

Oh, wait it wasn't quiet, because Gman snores like a bear!

S'alright. I've been through worse

And I was tired enough to sleep no matter how noisy it was.

USCM HQ was on the 20th floor of the Hyatt last year. People were outside partying on the balconies all night and making all kinds of noise. Would've been hard to get any shuteye without the earplugs I always have on hand for such occasions. Fortunately the Hilton was so quiet I never needed 'em.
