The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

No I usually cheap out and room with some folks but those options are out for this year - trying to save some cash before I book a room later this week.

According to the Hilton, I got the last room last night...which was a double bed room. I don't know how true that is, but....

Are you kidding me?

WTF is going on! I get that Dragon Con continues to grow exponentially, but having to book my room nearly a year in advance is unreal!

Since this will be our first time at DCon next year, I am at a loss as to where to book our room... Hyatt or Hilton? Any help?

Personally I have always enjoyed the Hilton over the Hyatt.

The hotel at the heart of the con is the Marriott Marquis, with the Hilton on one side and the Hyatt on the opposite. All three are new connected by sky bridges. Being at the center of it all makes the Marriott pretty popular and it sells out lightning fast when their rooms are made available at con rates. Elevator wait times can be a bear at the Hyatt and Marriott, especially at the height of the con and at night.

If Cpl. Potter wasn't mistaken when he was told by the Hilton that his was the last room and was now sold out, that option is off the table already.

Dittos my man. We'll be ready to roll with some 18 cross-over ultimate badasses for sure if the interest pans out. Now we just need to get the rest of em over here and introducing themselves.

I don't know, that walk to parade staging can get kinda hot. Though this year it was actually cool and breezy...so I suppose only time will tell

Okay- I'm now booked at the Hilton for Thursday to Monday morning.

Get this... I was told that due to the high demand for rooms that weekend (at the discount rates) my 1st night down payment is non-refundable!

So it looks like I'm going next year no matter what!

Those MFs better not give me a hard time at the border!
