They moved the location of the movie from a small Colorado town to Detroit. I guess they figured they could save money on set design if they shot the film in a city that is already all shot up.  Plus, the cast can yell "Wolverines!" and get extras to follow along naturally. Some pictures from the set leaked out a few months back:     Some video, too. |

Are'nt those posters from the Democratic National Convention? And as for Canadian overlords, I thought Dom and Kevin already had that position. I think they chose Detroit because I heard there was something like 30,000 abandoned and forclosed buildings. The city was planning to demolish 10,000 so this is just a beatification plan for the city I'm sure. Newest conspiracy theory I've heard is that we'll wake up and find that everything west of the Mississippi has been given to the PRC without a shot fired... PLEASE GOD BRING ON THE CANADIAN OVERLORDS!! |

Not to get off topic, but I was talking to a guy in Detroit and he stated 20% of the city is like that. Perfect place to film. |

Hollywood has died. A friend posted me a list of forthcoming 'new' films, all of which were re-makes. The list had 74 titles, including American Pie FFS. I am not happy. RD was never an amazing piece of cinematic genius or anything, but it has already been made. It doesn't need to be re-made. |
