Why is it after being out of the army for over 3 years, I keep having airborne dreams? I was at a local curling bonspiel this weekend here at our military garrison and ran into an old airborne buddy who is still serving. While drinking beer, we talked alot about jumping.....of course. Last night, my dream was of all about jumping. In this dream, this Friday, I was suppose to jump in Wainwright (training area) from a Herc, double door smash, full equipment at night for a winter exercise that lasts a week. Very hard core field exercise. One of my biggest concerns in my dream was enuff time to do a para refresher, never mind the jump. Also in my dream, I was saying to myself I gotta slow down. Too weird. I guess it will always be in my blood. Damm I miss it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() AIRBORNE ALL THE WAY Mike |

Hideously jealous I never got to go airborne in my time... I don't care what anyone says, Paras are still the cooler force in my eyes than the Marines, although they are damn cool themselves obviously! *waits for flames* ![]() |

Dreams are weird. I've never done a parachute jump, never even trained for it. Yet last night (coincidence? Or maybe not? ![]() And I'm not even talking about the fighting once on the ship. Maybe I should stop playing CoD4 for a while... |

You can take the man out of the Army, but you'll never take the Army out of the man. ( apply whatever real world arm of service you wish to there. ) |

Don't open that can of worms. ![]() I have a dream that I am back in my old Air Cadet squadron a couple of times a year. They are always pretty vivid and memorable. The scenarios may change, but two things remain constant: I am wearing my old uniform, and I am my present age. Sometimes I’ve dreamt that I’m not supposed to be there, that I am breaking some rule by wearing my old uniform and posing as a cadet. When I used to have long hair years ago, the dream would have me in uniform with a long pony tail (which would be unheard of) or trying to stuff my hair under my cadet cap. The dream can play out as a semi-nightmare (being caught posing as a cadet) or a nostalgic dream (being back in my former squadron with old friends long gone). Someone once tried to explain to me that I have some kind of longing for the past, (being back in cadets) but still wished to be grounded in the present (being an adult and not my teenage self). This dream will always remain a wonderful mystery to me. |

I am soooooo looking forward to static line training in August!! ![]() It's going to be great! Next year's plan is to convert from round to square canopy. Perhaps I'll join my mate in sky diving too... Once I can afford to do it regularly. |

![]() hehe Ash, I'll be down in a heartbeat if he could get my manifested. Here's a short Airborne Video from June 2003 of me in the air using my old crappy Kodak 2.2 mp camera. Sound is tough to hear. This is a day "Hollywood" (no equipment) jump from a CH-146 Griffon chopper. Here's after I landed. Enjoy! Airborne Mike |

All I am saying is that while I do plan to enlist in the army hopefully within the next year or so, an airborne regiment would be my preferable target...... Well, I guess I could always move to england and enlist there lol!! |

Oddly enough, I've had dreams of being both an airborne soldier back in WWII aswell as being an airborne soldier in modern times, perhaps fate is telling me to enlist? lol!! |
