The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Just to give you guys a headsup, Sideshow just put up the Hellboy 2 Samaritan replica up for pre-order. For those like myself who missed it the first time, this one is MUCH better than the first version. I just ordered mine.

I ordered the exclusive from SS, but my brother got me a gift certificate for my birthday to Monsters in motion that I could use to take a good chunk out of the price of this also. Only problem is, I won't get the cool light up rounds. I can't decide! Help!

I'd say grab the exclusive, no doubt about it. If you need something from MiM, i'm sure they have the replica belt if you don't already have it :P

Dense metal with a real wooden grip? A shipping weight of 23 lbs?

Is this for real?

After the first disappointing attempt of this piece for the same price... well, I just can't quite believe what they're saying.

I'd seriously consider picking one of these up as long as it wasn't some powered metal cold cast material that breaks when you drop it.

So don't drop it!

Just kidding. Seriously though. What is dense metal? I to am concerned that the strength of the metal they are using might not be up to par.

I find myself laughing when people mention doing something like this out of metal because they're worried they're going to drop it. What are they doing? Twirling it around a finger like Roy Rogers?

I can spin just about any pistol, but I'll tell you right now I would NOT be spinning a Samaritan!

PS: That was NOT aimed at Rick, I've heard this before on other forums, most recently the RPF. :)

I personally won't be running around with it but I can't say the same thing for my buddy. He went as Hellboy last year for halloween and apparantly he wants to dress up as HB again for the movie release, sammie and all.

This new version is $100 more than the old one, i'd guess the metal is Zamac or some other low melt cast pot metal. Plus wood grips and you get 4 normal and 4 glowy shells - bonus!
My order is in!

I've sent a query as to what 'dense metal' is.

He's got two. You could have one of each...

Although depending on what kind of day he's been having he might well sell you them..:)

There is a guy offering a fan made (not recast) resin cast samaritan for $150.00.
As well if anyone is interested in a holster you may want to check out Kropserkel.
They made the holster first.
