... and I'm up already and on my computer because my stupid cat has decided for the second night in a row that pi**ing on my bed is perfectly all right and better than asking to be left out of the room as she's done for 4 years before. And because it's the second time I have no clean and dry bedding, and so I can't go back to sleep.

There. I thought it had to be said.

But atleast a cat will poop in a box, unlike a dog.

Well, most cats will, except mine. :?
I think he's going senile. He keeps "making his deposit" in the same spot...about 5 inches away from his box.

I've already told my wife that when this one kicks off, we are NOT getting another cat. :x

If the cat misses the box by 5 " have you moved the box? or does he keep missing by 5 " no matter where you put the box?

Urg. I don't even want to consider it. I woke up instantly feeling it, jumped out yelling the cat's name, kicked her out and removed the bedding pretty much on autopilot. It's about 30 mn later once I had everything washed or washing that I sat on the other side of the bed, my brain half-awake half-dead, and actually wondered for a minute: "Hang on, what if it wasn't the cat, what if it was me?"

Took me a whole minute to realise that I'd have more than a damp toe if this had been the case. The things you think at 4AM...

Hey I have three cats and they are like furry children who walk on all fours, and don't speak English very well to me!

You should get her checked by a vet. Sudden peeing can be a symptom of a urinary tract infection.

Another thing that could be causing it is anxiety or stress. Has anything spooked her recently? Or have you moved the litterbox/changed the litter?

I've moved house 2 weeks ago.

The weird thing is, she was fine for 2 weeks before this happened.

Cats are odd creatures... and yes, I have two of my own. ;) The house move could have something to do with it but it's definitely worth at least phoning the vets and asking them about it. They might just want to check her to be sure.

Knowing Irish Vets, they're certainly not going to pass on the consultation fee. Ah well. I'll get her checked tomorrow if I can. Thanks for the advice, people. :D

He misses no matter what we do. I even tried putting paper down in the area he uses, he moves away from that too! I think that maybe he doesn't like the box, I try keeping it clean...as clean as one can keep it when the cat using it goes number one and number two about 10 times a day.

And the smell, good heavens the smell that cat generates. I don't know what crawled up inside of him, but its dead whatever it is.

I guess he's just the cat form of a stinky old man. :?
