Post subject:  an animation

my first real post in a little while, i was wondering if anyone knows where i can find an avatar sized animation of the space battle from Star Trek: First Contact, starting right after Picard gives the "fire"order, right up to when the cube finishes exploding.

any ideas?

You could make it yourself. There are a lot of ways of importing DVD's into your computer and a lot of ways to make .gifs.

One of the actual legal uses of torrents can now come into play here.

Idiots guide...

Download VirtualDub and open your video file.
Use the 'copy video to clipboard' to copy the current frame
Paste it into a program like Paint or Irfanview and save to a gif file
Do this with all the frames you'd like to be in the animation (I'd copy about every 5th frame) so the file is not HUGE.

Then find a free program like 'Unfreez' to combine all of these files into an animated gif and hey'presto!!

Or if you have Paintshop pro use the animation shop.
