The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Remember the stickman game Storm the House?

The one that was a never ending onslaught of wave after wave of enemies you had to kill with your point and click mouse/sniper rifle?

Well...

They made a sequel. God help us all!

Actually it's a little more fun this time.

First of all there are new enemies to kill:

Image

The jeeps move in pretty quick- I think they started on level 6 or 7 (I've only played it once so far). They do not cause as much damage as the bazooka guys do though.

The suicide bomber will run across the entire field in less than a second- he causes 100 points damage (and leaves a big bloody puddle when he blows up).

Haven't encountered any other new enemies yet- only made it to level 27 though.

Best part: NEW WEAPONS!!!! :D

Image

1. Dual pistols- While playing the game, I noticed the rate of fire was much slower with my mouse clicking (I had to wait a half second between shots before the gun would fire again). When you purchase dual pistols, your rate of fire is slightly increased.

2. MP5- This allows you to fire a steady stream of bullets by holding your mouse button down. Only drawback is that the reload time is very slow.

3. Shotgun- haven't tried this yet, but the designer says the low rate of fire, and long reloads isn't really worth it (other than being able to hit several soldiers at once). I figure it will be useless on higher levels against the tanks.

4. M249 SAW- My second favourite weapon already! The SAW allows you to lay down heavy fire with more damage than the MP5. Make sure to buy lots of bullets or you will be constantly reloading.

5. Grenade launcher- Unfortunately this was the last weapon I purchased, and it got me overrun. You have to reload after every shot, and the reload is fairly long. The effect of seeing a bunch of stickmen blown to pieces is pretty cool though.

6. Sniper Rifle- Just like the original upgraded rifle in the first game.

7. "Gravity Cannon"- The designer explains this as a weapon that "when you shoot it, people fly up into the air like ants into the bowels of a vacuum cleaner". Which is exactly what happens... the men, jeeps, tanks, break apart and get sucked up into the air just above where you fired. Pretty cool effect, but again only one shot, long reload.

8. Minigun- "Old Glory" lays down a great rate of fire, and damage. Easily my favourite upgrade. There is a slight warmup delay when pressing the mouse (while the barrels begin to spin before firing). BUY LOTS AND LOTS OF BULLETS!

The game plays pretty much the same as the first one. I noticed the gunmen fire a little quicker, and the craftsmen repair a little faster this time around. And the missile silo fires immediately upon purchase (you don't have to buy a silo worker seperately- the first one is free  ).

Have fun gang! :D

Good find Kev. Lots of great new stuff.

Spoiler Alert /Hint below:

Gravity gun does not work on Rodan and you need to shoot Godzilla in the mouth while he is breathing fire

I too lost the ability to fire around level 28 but kept adding gunman, craftsmen and silo workers. At level 40 came a magical weapon..... a crazy Irishman hand from the sky.

Image

Of course, I tried to crush my fort but to no avail

Image

Becoming crush happy, I was smashing everything in sight when the level ended, I was able to crush the weapon selection screen

Image

Anyway, as I type this, I have over 1000 gunman, 82 craftsman and 101 silo workers. When will it end?

Mike

It ended. As the computer played each level, it took longer & longer before moving onto the next level. Since I couldn't interact except the killer fist, I just let it play by itself. Would go to bed, wake up add more gunman, craftsmen and silo workers then come home from work and add some more dudes. Around level 90, Firefox kept telling me there was a script on the page that was causing some grief. I always chose ignore. Finally that tab in Firefox gagged but every other tab worked fine. Tried to make level 100 but just fell short. Here's Mike's results: 1474 gunman, 236 craftsman and 233 silo workers on Day 99 :( Can anybody do better? Thanks Kevin for another fine waste of my time
