The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I'll display it with the 1:72 Die Cast Drop Ship later on.

I will trash Bruce Ellen Lee Ripley and Bishop. They suck.

^ Me too. And I want it even more now!

Not that the Aoshima is bad at all of course - I nearly went for that but I need something that'll fit-in with my Hicks. :)

Despite what it says on the instructions, box, and on the web, I can assure you that

this Power Loader is in 1:72 scale. Like the APC & Dropship.

The one from sideshow will be in 1:12 scale, large enough to hold a 12" Ripley figure.

^ Ain't no way that Loader is in scale with the dropship!

(Sideshow's is in 1/6 Scale). :)

Wait, I'm totally confused.

Up to the yellow light it's 9" tall. Taller if you measure to arm tips, when extended upward.

The scale is FUBAR.

No wonder that in some of the pictures I've seen of this, they have the Ripley figures head turned so you can't see the face.

Even Aoshima realized they had a dog likeness on her. :?

I suppose you could use the HT mini Ripley, although her likeness isn't much better. And her limited articulation probably won't allow her to hold onto the control grips.

The PL itself is pretty nice though, how much of it is actual metal?

If it is 9 inches tall then that would make it 9 foot tall on a 1:12 scale. I'm not sure how big exactly the real ones were but 9 foot sounds about right to me.

It's definitely not in scale with the 1:72 dropship and APC though. I think the box is correct when it says 1:12 scale

So it would probably be able to hold a 1:12 scale Ripley figure but not a 12 inch figure like the 1:6 scale ones from hot toys.

Cheers

Darren

If the powerloader was 1:72 scale then it would only be about 1- 1 1/2" tall...
from my understanding from reading there adverts they say something like...' it was originaly a plastic model ' i take that to be the old Halcyon kit re vamped and done in metal...

This powerloader is 1:12 scale , the sideshow/ hot toys will be 1:6 scale, not sure on the price here i think the 1:12 powerloader is going to be around £140 ish (what i was quoted) the 1:6 powerloader from Forbidden planet....£189..... thats why im going for the big one.....

Damn I saw the photo of the Ripley figure & for a moment thought this was part of the 2nd series of USCM vs Aliens in there 1/18th range (4" figures).

Though no matter the scale this is a beautiful piece, the PL looks amazing.

Here`s hoping Hot Toys ARE planning a series2 to their USCM vs ALIENS 4" line.

Jason

Are all of these not from the same moulds as the Halcyon kits?
But reworked for metal?

The Halcyon kit had a more or less fixed pose. As I understand it, this one has a lot more degrees of freedom.

Cheers,
Stefan
