Post subject: | Accomodation in central Florida / A cry for help |
Hi guys. Some of you will remember a while ago on the old board I started a topic asking if anyone knew of any cheap accomodation in central Florida (Ideally as close to Haines City as possible). Back then the reason for that request seemed to resolve it's self and the topic died. To cut a long and depressing story (which I'm sure you don't want to hear) short.. this week my whole world has been turned upside-down again and I barely know what to do. I think I'm going to need to come out to Florida soon to try to salvage something that means to whole world to me. I don't know for sure, it maybe that there's no hope at all but all I can think about right now is trying to save it. However right now isn't the right time to come out, but maybe in the next few weeks - it's all very unsure at the moment. So, once again if anyone can recommend any cheap motels (I'm on rather a limited budget), friends with rooms who are looking for someone to help share the rent for a couple of weeks, back yards I can pitch a tent in, trucks I can sleep under etc... I'd be very grateful. I really need to move out there soon. So if anyone knows of any companies in the area looking for skilled workers please let me know! ![]() Ideally in electronics/engineering/graphics but I'm not picky and can turn my hand to pretty much anything. I really hate to ask like this but I feel totaly lost and dare I say it a little desperate at the moment and I figure "who knows?" maybe someone on here will have some ideas... Thank you guys! G |

I'll ask around but most of the folks I know are in the Orlando area or North of it not South. |

Thank you mate. I really appreciate that. Anything is better than nothing and Orlando is certainly closer than I am currently. In my current state - virtually anything considered! |

Hey guys. I'm looking at the "Howard Johnson Inn" Haines City as a possible cheap base for "operation: fix my life" sometime in the future. It's a motel on the US 27 S; west side of the road, just north of the 544 intersection (or about a mile south of the 17-92 depending on which way you look at it). If anyone happens to be in the area driving by at any time and can take a quick look to let me know if it looks a complete dive or not I'd be super grateful. Thank you guys. |

Thank you. yes, I've seen all those. The reviews seem mixed and I never trust the publicity photographs - I used to work in the travel industry, those photo's can be misleading ![]() Always nice to get a first hand opinion. If there happens to be police tape, some chalk-line body outlines hanging around, that sort of thing, I like to know. ![]() Doesn't look too bad. Cheap, that's the main thing as budget is tight and I'll be using taxi for transport since I don't drive. |
