The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Have at it!

Personally, I bloody LOVED it.
With Prey and The Sandman dropping on the same day, I was equal parts excited for, and dreading this weekend!
I needn't have worried. Both are about as close to perfection as I could have realistically hoped for!

The cinematography was incredible - there some really amazing stylistic and shot choices that I felt really elevated this above most action/scifi flicks.
Couldn't fault any of the acting either.

And those setpieces!
The little "food chain" vignettes when the film was establishing who ol' Preddy is and what he's all about.
The blood gag with the bear.
The end fight!

NO PLASMA CASTER!
This was a brave, but correct IMHO choice! this movie could easily have fallen into the Prometheus trap, and succumbed to the temptation to up the ante and go BIGGER! LOUDER! BETTER! with weapons that are supposed to be centuries less advanced than those we've seen in previous films in the series.
The magnetic arrow doohickey was a fantastic replacement. ( And I have a meme up my sleeve for it already ;) )

If I HAD to pick it apart some;

I disliked the redesign ( again ) of the titular creature. His gear and body were fine, but WHY do productions since Predators feel the need to mess with his damn face so much!
Subtle differences in coloration and facial features would be far better than big sweeping amendments to the dude's fizzog.
That's not how a hatchet on a string would work.
Some of the CGI was slightly ropey.

So yeah. If you're on the fence, get it watched.
