Just wanted to stick my hand up here and say hi.
Looooooong time Alien(s) fan ever since my sister let me watch Alien on telly whilst Mum and Dad were away back in the mid 80s (I had nightmares for months and my sister got in sh!t because of it
), and going to Aliens at the movies when it was released back in 1986.
I'm not a reenactor/cosplayer but have started to put some stuff together over the last year or two. My latest project whilst not screen accurate is making a flight jacket for a drop ship member. I've worked as a military aviation historian for the national musuem here so have a background in military kit, and always thought the drop ship gear had a very traditional US flight gear ring to it so it seemed like a fun project to do. Patches have been bought and stencils made so I'll post my progress here if people are interested.
Down the line I'm thinking I want to get a helmet, pulse rifle and some other bits and bobs. If I win the lottery, maybe a full smart gun set up!
