The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Way back in 1993 The Aiens Fan club held its first convention in Dunstable (what ever happened to Simon Clarke ?)
so my question is who from this forum went to it ? I went , and it was there that i first met Harry Harris .....the guest were a bit thin on the ground, quite a few dealers selling Alien related models , but it was a lot of fun , i have a few photos , that i should scan in my computer ...oh the days before digital cameras

So did anyone else from the board go ?

I have some photos from that event too. I'll have to dig out my photos and scan them when I have some time.

I know Mike Rush and Terry English were there as well, it was the first time I met Terry if my memory serves me correctly.

I went to that one, was pretty good as I remember. Got a few photos somewhere, probably in the loft though.

That sounds like it would have been amazing! Now I wasnt as young as Vito, but suffice to say I never had a prayer of attending back then. Has anyone ever thought of doing a dedicated Aliens fan club convention lately?

I was there :-) can't remember exactly if it was that event that William Hope was there as a guest ?? I do remember Terry's stall / stand tho with hudsons armour on display and a mini size one next to it :-)

I bought a draft script from alien 3 and a couple of other bits

And I still have an original Harry Harris typed letter from that era that's gotta be worth something lol

Not as far away as you think!
We HAVE to do an AE for that, even if we can't do one before!

I have a video from the 1995 convention in the UK. Poor quality
but still cool to see. Terry English and I think William Hope were there.

I wasn't at the Convention but I was a member of the Aliens Fan Club for a while I actually found my membership card and at least one copy of the Club Newsletter/Magazine when clearing out my house prior to the sale recently! :)

As for a 30th Anniversary Convention or even an non-Anniversary Convention sounds like fun and I'd be up for helping with any organisation.

I was there!

First posting by the way. I used to live in Dunstable so it was nice to drive back there and visit friends befor I went to the Convention. I played the Aliens Board game and have good memories of Terry English with armour on display, props and models. I’d love to see some photos of the day.

I remember chatting to Simon Clarke. I was a keen member of the club and got a letter printed in the magazine. I guess clubs like that it’s printed fanzines went the way of the Dinosaur (impregnated by Xenomorphs?) thanks to the Internet, but I enjoyed being a member very much. Decades on and I’m finally in a position to have my own M41A, thanks to the miracle of 3D printing (and a firing air-soft one, thanks to the joy of disposable income!)

And while I was looking for those I also found my British Aliens Fan Club membership card! What a blast from the past!

I found my photos but I was so busy on the day I didn't take many. Of course back then we were still using film so that's another reason for so few images. Anyway here are a few; firstly of the full size Nick Harrison ('Bitch Productions') Queen on stage The first (and best) shot was taken by Chris Piercy if I reall correctly.

The convention was where I met Terry English for the first time. Here's a photo of part of his table in the dealer room, featuring a prototype armour chest-plate.

wow, there is just always more stuff to find, that must have been awesome. At the last con I was at very few people even knew what "aliens" was, it was sad. I'd love to know how to organize an event.
