The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Pretty off topic, but I wonder if anyone here can advise me on a broken guitar tube amp.

Its a 2x12 Traynor ycv80. Light turns on, everything works with headphones. no noise at all through the speakers.

I opened it up and it looks like a real idiot got inside of there. I've got the schematics, service manual ect. but am wondering if anyone in our group can offer any help.

If you have a multimeter it’s pretty easy to check if the speaker has blown (which is probably the case as your getting sound through the headphone jack.

I saw this post but I don't think I can be of much help, or I would have already answered.

Basically, I consult the schematic, and verify voltages across the board, and where it deviates, replace the component most likely to be responsible. I can't say : "Just replace the hyperdrive motivator and it'll all be good" from over here, cuz it could be a hydrospanner too...

I'd need the amp, schematic and a large bag of small denomination unmarked bills for best results.
