The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I put this in the off topic section because this has been disused many times. I'm just wondering if there have been any recent epiphanies about this.

The Helmet camera is considered by most people to have been sculpted and no found parts were identified aside from the lens and knobs. I have seen what I THINK is a screen used camera without the lens on Harry Harris site and can see that the lens screws into it. So they would have used the lock-in mechanism from the Pentax Auto-110 camera. One hint that it was sculpted is that the smartgunner headset is a shorter version of it with variations. Considering that almost every other prop was a found part, it seems odd that this would have been sculpted. its an incredibly complex sculpt, they didn't have CAD back then like we do now and there is some serious geometry going on. I used to think it was kit bashed from the insides of cameras but I've found nothing resembling its parts.

Does anyone have any new theories or thoughts?

:delta: And for anyone who needs a helmet cam here is a perfect 3D print file designed by smrtazzsmrtgnnr.

I mean, my lens locks-in too, but I just glued the cap from that side of the lens into the casting of the camera body.

They sculpted the APC, Dropship, Sulaco, PR shrouds and Powerloaders....a little camera wouldn’t be that hard surely?
