Let's see how best to summarize this past year:

July-2019 have right leg amputated below the knee. Wait 7 months in hospital waiting for Medicaid because I can't safely go home

February 2020-placed in assisted living finally

March 2020- COVID lockdown. Over this time there is no therapy. In assisted living essentially stuck in room per State of Colorado. Over this year until now had three pulmonary embolisms. 17 people here caught COVID , 7 died. They could not determine whether or not my PEs were caused by covid as all the tests they gave me came back negative. For at least a total of 4 weeks I was intubated. This is like a Volkswagen shoved down your throat. I have developed short term memory loss because of lack of oxygen so I have oxygen all the time.

April 2021- State of Colorado starts relaxing covid restrictions on assisted living homes but then a new management company takes over this place and they are determined to just warehouse me so they can keep collecting my disability check.

But God did not send me back 3 times to give up. So the battle continues. Hope everybody is getting thru this clusterfook.

I feel your pain. Amputations are never a good thing to have done, but sometimes necessary.

I had a grandmother who had one mastectomy and then another and she eventually passed after her husband as she was not able to manage her glucose levels sufficiently.

If you think they are collecting your SS check and not taking care of you contact your patient advocate and file a complaint with CMS for medicare billing fraud. I can assure you you can not be the only person that they are doing this to.

Oh they take care of me ok but provide minimum of therapy unless I have Medicare B. So now I got Medicare A and B plus medicaid. I get disability but I only see 90 bucks a month of it this place takes the rest. Which is legal according to the state.So I am becoming my own advocate and depend on myself to make appointments. I do play some games but it depends on what they are all I have now is an android phone and a rather old laptop that's not very fast.

Damn, that's rough. Hope everything gets sorted out and you get the therapy you need! Sending positive vibes your way!

I figure this is where God wants me. As sick as I was with the leg infection either it or covid or one of the PEs would have done me in. The quarantine here was pretty tight. We could have lost more people.
