 Post subject: Movie Editor?

Anyone know a good program to edit movies? I wanna take some clips from other movies and make a sort of music video. The one i have is a trial version and its Ulead DVD but its frozens up on me. So does anyone know where i can get a free or trial version of a editor program?

I find virtualdub works well for cutting up video and re-encoding it.
But for effects........best for the money (that being $0) I think is Windows Movie Maker 2.0 for XP SP2

Well I would have to say Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5. It has some cool effects which are all editable, as well as being able to work with photoshop files. Expensive, but worth it.

Well, if price is no option then I like Sony Vegas, but if you're broke, the windows movie editor suggested above will work on the cheap.

I actually have Window Movie maker but i dont want to take film from my camera and it seem that the only thing i can do on it, I wanted to take scenes from Full Metal Jacket from the back up files when i used DVD strink. So it there a way on Movie maker to import movie clip insted of live feed?

I believe virtualdub can convert the DVD files and then import them into movie maker and do what you will then.
Thats how I do it anyway :)
