Post subject:  Anyone seen the trailer for Battlefield 2142?
This game looks pretty sweet. There are several aliens influenced design elements, and some that aren't... like a 30 foot Mech!

Looks pretty interesting, but I suspect it will be another Multiplayer only game, with no single player mission whatsoever.

The only question I have is...

Looks like a lot of fun.

The design work reminds me of several different movies though. I see colonial marines, a whole bunch of ED209's, some predator invisibility, and some dropships in there.

But, I have been wondering what new games might interest me. I'm not an avid gamer, but stuff like this, Killzone, Goldeneye, I love to play.

I get PC Gamer every month and they gave several nods in the article to the "Aliens" inspired APC and Dropship.

Yup. The film industry is still related to the gaming industry. People in our industry often go to work in the gaming industry and vice versa. Especially considering the incredible quality the gaming industry is putting out nowadays.

I've had friends go to E3 who aren't in the industry. One in particular works as an independant consultant for a phone company. :)

So, was there any single player gameplay, or was it all online VS. modes?

It was all online multiplayer.

As for getting into the convention... this year more than any other they have started cracking down on requirements. You can't just be someone vaguely related to the gaming industry anymore, you actually have to be in it. Which is why people who work at best buy aren't allowed to go anymore. I'm surprised I was even allowed myself.

Apparantly because I work at EB Games, I'm able to go. However, Since I just started, it was a little late to get tickets but i'm going next year for sure.

I know I saw my local EB Games manager there. It doesn't surprise me that game store employees are welcome to attend given that it's basically their job to endorse the sales of the products that are shown at E3. Best Buy employees on the other hand... well that job criteria is a little more obscure given that they could be working in depts. that are unrelated to games.

Shame you missed it, Scareb! This year has been the best on a long time.

I'm pretty Dissappointed but i'll suck it up for sure. I think the only problem I would have is leaving, being as big a gamer as i am, I might end up chaining myself to a display and take it from there. Surprisingly enough, I heard the Wii (Revolution) actually stole the show from PS3 and Xbox 360....

Next year however, you'll know i'm there when the place burns down to the ground and they find my charred corpse melted to the stand I was playing.
