Had a bit of a drunken discussion last night about horror movies and one of my friends described one that he'd seen a long time ago and would love to see again. From what he can remember it's about a bunch of kids who find a gateway to hell, and there are some clay stop-motion animated figures or creatures too. He also mentioned one of the characters having an eye in the palm of his hand. Sorry to sound vague but we were drunk after all! I'll see if he can remember anything else about it soon. If this all sounds familiar to anyone (the movie I mean, not the getting drunk and talking schitt part!) please let me know! Smile Harry |

I believe this is it... www.imdb.com/title/tt0093075/ "The Gate" www.itsonlyamovie.co.uk/C...20GATE.jpg "The removal of an old tree in Glen's backyard reveals a large and mysterious hole. Glen and his sister, Al, are left to look after themselves for three days when their parents go away. This is when strange things begin to happen, all of them centered around the "hole". The boy Glen (Stephen Dorff) and his best fried Terry (Louis Tripp) accidentally open a gate to hell when a rotten tree is removed from the backyard of Glen's house. When his dog die and a friend of Glen's sister, the teenager Alexandra (Christa Denton), buries the animal in the hole, demons from an ancient civilization are released, seeking for two human sacrifices to dominate the world. Glen, Al and Terry, who are spending the weekend alone in the house, fight to save their lives and close the hole." Ahhh yes... "The Gate"! ![]() Now that was an obscure classic from the 80's. Haven't seen that in years. I'm shocked to see that it's actually currently available on DVD! ![]() Rick "Ripstick" |

There was alos the incredibly naff The Gate II Quote: Quote:A man may fight for many things: his country, his principles, his friends, the glistening tear on the cheek of a golden child. But personally I'd mud wrestle my own mother for a ton of cash, an amusing clock, and a sack of French porn.

I loved "The Gate" when I was a kid. Top notch crappy monsters...if that makes sense. Chris <span style="color:orange;font-size:large;]"Long live the fighters!" |
