So recently I ran an image search for 'green slime' and discovered that there is a film from 1968 of that name. Finding it on YouTube I just had to sit and watch it. It is really chessy but it actually has some strong vibes of the first two Alien films to it. Check it out if you have an hour and a half to spare.  Yes, this was made in the same year as 2001: A Space Odyssey
