Post subject:  Alien Queen Huntress.. some progress pics

Hi guys...

I just finished sculpting a scaled down version of alien queen head. It was made out of polysterene foam.. and is getting hard coated next week. This is part of my new predator suit.. (its a shield I'll be using with a sword). The whole suit has alien parts fused to the metal.. so I will be a very unique looking Predator. I'll be wearing this suit at DC this year, so I'll see some of you marines out there.

That's awesome !!!

I always figured the Predators would add trophies to their armor to customize it, as we've seen with human skulls and necklaces . . . just not an Alien Queen's Skull as shield :P

I saw you last year in your Predator Huntress outfit. That looked awesome!!!

I look forward to seeing you there !!!

Very impressive, really looks the part. Great modelling technique by your lady friend too!

Phil, I think she's modeling herself in addition to the shield in that photo, and not a friend. :)

What are you using to hard coat it? Some sort of sprayable gelcoat or fiberglass?

First time I've seen the backside, what an attention to detail! Nicely done.

That looks great! Just the srot of trophy to finish off an experienced hunters outfit. Reminds me of the Alien head the hunter leader in the first AvP comic wore.

How much will it weigh once hardcoated?

Thanks guys...

The shield is getting sprayed with a resin hard coat. Its the same stuff they spray on props to hard coat them at theme parks and attractions.

WOW! I was impressed by the in progress shot you shared before but clearcoated and all that, it looks like you cut it off an Alien queen yourself! Well done!

That head sculpt is superb. Really managed to find feminine and yet still keep it unmistakably predator.

That is a pretty amazing paint job on both the body suit and mask. How many hours did it take you to get it to that point?

Again, amazing job.
