...was quite a disappointment. In all honesty, the rudest and most unprofessional celebrity I have ever encountered. It's too late to get all into it tonight but, sheesh, he was a complete schmuck. To me and the folks with me and it seems like everyone else who ran afoul of him at FX. The grades just came in from star appearance school and Mr. Biehn you get an "F".

I've heard that before.
How dissapointing.

Don't they realize that the entire purpose of a convention appearence is to be seen and greeted by fans of their work?

Then to act like a jerk to those very same fans?
(who incidently are the people providing the money they earn while there)
Unprofessional is one word that comes to mind.

I had heard the rep before too but thought hell, I'll give him a chance. But now I've seen it first hand. I don't care how bad a day you're having, or how drunk you've gotten yourself:roll: , if some folks show up in costume and are obvious fans of your work you can at least act like you give a damn.

At least Lance Henriksen was nice and cool8)

Shows how good an actor he is.

and be such an A1 assclown in person.

I've heard this over and over- ashame he hasn't changed.

Get Dietrich back- she was awesome! :D

Thanks Chris. I think I'll nip this one in the bud and get to work on another cast member.

Makes you wonder if his fanclub website patrons have met him before?
And like Kev said.....do they not know its pretty much us fans paying their wage?

What kind of crap did he pull?

Somebody should get him on video being a weenie.

I wonder if I'll ever run into him in my area. I run into

celebs all the time.

What a wank. Sorry you had that experience Chris.

He was probably the least sociable of the 'Aliens' actors / crew at the London film and comic Con in London a couple of years ago, but I wouldn't have said he was by any means rude or offish, at least not to my friends and I.

He was also a lot friendlier on the second day, had his chair on 'our side' of the counter.

Must have his bad days I guess!

Andy.

Aye we have to remember that we all have our of days.

I think this quote form Furturama says it best:

Quote:
Quote:Shatner: I wonder, my friends, was he really such an evil energy gas?
Nichols: He did give us eternal youth.
Koenig: 24-hour Laundromat.
Takei: A full assortment of rum, both spiced and regular.
Nimoy: Truly, it was a paradise.
Fry: And all you had to put up with was one really annoying Star Trek fan.
Shatner: Let's get the hell outta here!

The problem is that he has developed a reputation of boorish behaviour.

We all have our off days, and sometimes a guest can be a little cranky for whatever reason (long flight, no sleep, poor accommodations, one too many annoying fans, etc)- it really is no excuse when you are making an appearance before the very people who pay to watch your movies and keep you working.

And I have very little sympathy for a guest who's having a bad day, and allows it to leave a lasting impression on their fans.

I would throw the convention staff an email.

That really sucks. I did a ton of conventions in comic book days, and I've met celebs who were great at one convention, and jerks at the next. Actors are artists, and artists are moody people. They run hot or cold, and not much in between.

Personally I'd love to know what exactly happened with him, but sometimes it doesn't take much for a fan to feel slighted either. I've been there, and you walk away feeling pretty crushed, even if all they did was not look at you. Some times the celeb so obviously looks down his nose at not only you, but the whole world, you gotta shake your head and walk away.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience either way. I was really hoping he'd be cool.

I had that exact same experience with Peter Mayhew at Dragoncon. Every other actor I talked to was very nice and pleasant. Virginia Hey (from The Road Warrior and Farscape) actually took time out of her lunch to chat with me. And not to mention the attention that Cynthia Scott gave to all of us.

If anyone wants to trade a Hicks autograph for Peter Mayhew's, let me know. :)

I've had the same experience with Peter Mayhew......only about 4 times.

Celebration, D Con and in Dallas.
Not a fan of his at all I'm sorry to say.

Now Cynthia........she knows how to impress the fans :)
But again she's not had much experience as DC was only her 2nd one.

Had the same with Peter Mayhew myself, total jerk, still not as bad as Anthony Daniels.

As for Michael that a shame, still Colette Hiller is nice, she gives out kisses. And Al Matthews is the man.

Sadly, I'm the only UK bloke to have experienced the kindness and generosity of Cynthia Scott. However, from my experience, I would say that Cynthia and Colette are both equally as lovely - I wonder how they would get on in the same room?

I guess the Peter Mayhew thing is the reverse of the "guess you caught him on a bad day" thing. Instead, I caught him on a good one, it seems.

So what was it about Anthony Daniels? I see these statements often but when it comes to anecdotes, so far they always seem to be overreactions by the offended party.

What's interesting about meeting Peter Mayhew was his wife was just the opposite, a very sweet lady.
I imagine have fanboys drooling over you for 30 years has got to be annoying, but if you don't like it... Then quit. If I dissed customers at work after they spent $50, I imagine they'd be upset about it as well.

I don't know, maybe I did catch him on a bad day. He always seems happy to see Spat. :D

But as I said, all the other stars I talked to at DC (and really, it wasn't all THAT many) were very nice people.

Peter Jurasic (from Babylon 5 and TRON! he needs to have 8x10 Tron pictures too and not just 5x7's. :) )

The entire crew of TAPS aka Ghost Hunters on Sci-Fi channel,
Jason, Grant, Brian and Steve. Great lads all!

Cynthia Scott

and Virginia Hey.

I missed the Stargate crew and especially Firefly as I didn't want to fight the massive lines. Plus I was dehydrated. Drink. Everyone must drink at cons. And NOT just alcohol!

Yes Kev, next time I see her at a con, I'm going to try some french kissing:P

Regarding Anthony Daniels, being part of the 501st we get to work with various actor at signings etc.. He is just plain rude and a prima donna . We did the DVD trilogy midnight release at Leicester Square London a couple of years back. Wearing Stormtrooper costumes, we had to stand next to him all evening as he signed DVD box sets. At the end of the night after getting changed, John May went up to get our box sets signed and he wouldn't sign ours, saying he was tired and had to go. It wouldn't of taken him a minute to sign 6 box sets.
