Post subject:  Free video editing software??? Where???
Anyone know where I can get some software to reduce the size of a video file (.avi)

I have some vids to post on myspace, but they are too big. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Windows XP has "Windows Movie Maker" built in. It should be under Start ... Programs ... Windows Movie Maker. You can open the avi and save it as wmv compressed video.

Open-source (but complex) alternative is "VirtualDub"

Macs have iMovie that can do the same, making a Quicktime file.

virtualdub will work great for compressing the size of the avi

Movie Maker to create the file, save as DV Movie (avi) and use VirtualDub to encode it to XVid or DivX if you don't like the WMV quality.
Both free and works a treat ;)

No thats on another video, but google keep booting it off for some reason!?!

Joke... Seriously though, when I was there (2003), that was still an 'option'. The place looked like a farm when we turned up... While loading the belt into the M60, the guy actually asked me if I would like a goat or a chicken... I told him the paper target would be fine.

Think it has all been stopped now... though there were rumours at the time that for USD$1000 you could have yourself a deathrow prisoner (which, to be honest, would fit in extremely well with the Cambodian way of thinking - "where ever I can make a buck").

They charged me $5 just to take the video, when somebody suddenly decided that was "extra"!!!:roll:
