The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hi all

I am just after recommendations for software for building a web site that is fairly simple to use, but not too visually basic to look at when done.

I have found a couple but just wondered what people used, and what they thought of it.

Many thanks

:) Don

vi :q! ;) ;)

Seriously, I like Nvu. It's free, open-source and is available for Windows and Mac OS X. It has its quirks, but it is easy to use.

I tend to use HTML-Kit. The problem with your question is that different people look for different things. For example, it sounds like you want something that does a lot of the choices for you, correct? If so, look for ones that have included templates (or just look for templates themselves). Secondly, do you want the editor to show you what the browser will show you, or the html code behind it? If you want to only see what the browser will show this is called WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get).

Also, how complicated do you want the page? If it's just pictures and some links, then that has to be able to retrieve and display data that was enterred after the site was created (such as this forum).

Dreamweaver is real simple

Or notepad and internet explorer - I agree its really simple and easy as long as you know basic html.
