One of the forum goers on another board I'm on is quite into Half Life 2. He recently posted in a venting thread about the lack of the Metro Cop uniform & mask costumes, given everything else that's out there.. Any Makers have an idea how hard it would be to make one, and how much it would cost? link to pic [edit] found this too:pic 2, close up of face & collar [/edit] _______________ Fear is funny. Uhh well not sure about the outfit but the mask could be modded from a Cantina Band member from Star Wars ANH with a few little additions. Everything else looks pretty modern and readily available. But don't quote me on that. |

That's a lobotomized albino Mos Eisley cantina band member if I ever saw one. ![]() As Tony said... not much else really special about the outfit. I mean, sure... some custom belt details here and there... some custom back-of-the-head leather/metal detail... and apparently something on the chest. The pants and boots look easy and off-the-shelf, the arms of the coat look like Vader arms... and Vader (motorcycle gauntlet style) gloves too. A couple of charcoal filters from a respirator, and an off-the-shelf gun and voilà ! This is something that I can see being put together with Goodwill items for less than $50.00 (less the price of the mask if you were going to canniblize a cantina band member mask), and just your time sewing, building, and painting. Someone who was really on a shoestring budget could even make the mask out of paper maché. I've seen some incredible masks done this way and you would not have guessed they were paper maché. On the other hand you could outsource everything and easily pay between $500.00 and $1000.00 to have everything custom made, including the Vader styled top canniblized from... er, a Vader top. ![]() Rick "Ripstick" |

Well a bit of clay and some silicone and you could sculpt one. The white part of the mask looks like it would be achieveable with just a 1 piece mold. But personally I'd mud wrestle my own mother for a ton of cash, an amusing clock, and a sack of French porn. |
