The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Anyone know what the difference is between the Double disk "Superbit" version, and the double sided single disk version?

More special features and stuff?

I've got the two disc SE

Disc One:

(Not mentioning all the quality features, scene selection, etc)
-Commentary: Dien/Meyer/Harris
-Commentary: Verhoeven/Neumeier
-Isolated Music Score with Poledouris commentary
-Filmographies

Disc Two:

-"Death From Above" documentary (new for SE dvd)
-"Know Your Foe" SFX documentary
-The Starships of SST
-SFX comparisons
-Storyboard comparisons
-The Making of SST documentary (probably the made for TV version)
-Concept art
-Scene deconstruction with Verhoeven commentary
-Deleted scenes
-Screen tests
-Trailers
-Interactive animated menus

Would You Like To Know More?

I specifically bought the two disc version a couple of years ago- still haven't gone through all of disc two. ;)

Hope this helps. :)

That does help. Thanks!

The double sided disk has the deleted/additional scenes, screen tests, and the making of SST documentary, plus 3 scene deconstructions.

*sigh* I may have to hunt this down now. :)

Anyone know when the multi-disk Blade Runner and the 25th Anniversay edition of the Road Warrior will be released?

Will the multi-disk Blade Runner have the Theatrical edition on it?

From what I heard they'll be releaseing like 3 versions including some uber edition with like 3 different cuts of the film, including the theatrical release all in a monster box set. Hot replicant women not included. ;)

You probably already know this, but the Superbit version would, in theory, have a much better picture, as the general idea of Superbit is to use up as much space on the disc as possible for the film itself, rather than reserving some of it for extras. Less compression needed that way.

So far as I can tell, it's just a re-release of the original directors cut DVD, but instead of a cardboard type cover, it's a full out plastic one. Word on the grapevine is that they are releasing some sort of 4 or 5 DVD boxset. I'll let you guys know more when I get the info.

The 2 disc set has the directors cut, and "on the edge of blade runner" on it's second disc. My understanding.

I have heard that the uber edition still isn't happening for several years, if at all.

Now, as for SST, I didn't even know a SE was available. That's cool, I will have to treat myself to that one!!!

the SST ones used to be incredibly expensive, but luckily they've gone down in price quite significantly. Definately worth the buy in my opinion.

I just picked one up from eBay for under $15 shipped.

Still awaiting my "Making of SST" book from the UK though. *drool*
