OMFG!!!!

Not often a trailer has me on the edge of my seat but this one does.

I can't wait to see it, the first film was outstanding, this one looks like they are taking it to the next step.

I don't usually like to praise anything too much with CGI over physical, but I seriously hope the motion capture people get a heap of recognition for this one, especially Andy Serkis.

I've just got the PotA novel 'Firestorm' which bridges the two movies, can't wait to get stuck into it.

Thankfully the Burton Ape film is almost a dim distant memory due to these superb re-imaginings!

HI Andy,

Thanks for that, haven't clicked on it yet, are there any major plot spoilers?

Not sure if you have seen this, some really well made film shorts (official I guess) and I they help set up the atmosphere for the beginning of the movie.

I saw this one ages ago and guessed it must have been part of a viral campaign, all the way back in 2011!

The Firestorm prequel novel is really good, worth a read.

I think this is going to be my film of 2014.....the press reviews I've seen have been extremely positive, they are calling it the 'Empire Strikes Back' of the Ape franchise.

Best avoid for now Andy. There are no major spoilers but for a connoisseur such as yourself it's probably preferable to see the film first as there are some minor plot reveals.
Hadn't seen the shorts so, thanks. I heard about the novel from someone else, too, so I'm gonna swing down ;-) to a book shop and give that a whirl, cheers.
Yeah, really looking forward to this movie. Go Ape!

You know when you have looked forward to something for so long, that it can't possibly live up to your expectations, or the hype generated by others. Well, 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' has just proven that sometimes it can!

A fantastic, well constructed, intelligent, respectful movie, pulls you in and keeps you there right to the very end.

A must see for this Summer.

In my opinion, it's a must see. I am not a stickler or a nitpicker, comparing it to the old Planet of the Apes films or anything like that. I can understand that people don't like reboots or anything that messes with canon (AvP anyone? Heh). If you wish to compare it to the caliber of the old ape movies, be my guest. But looking at it as a standalone flick, Dawn is a well put together film that shows the problems each side (human and ape) has, and how they struggle to come to terms with their own demons/humanity.

Probably the best sci-fi blockbuster I've seen since The Matrix. As sequels go it's up there with Aliens and Godfather 2 and t'other usual suspects of such lists. Amazing film and the director is top drawer, IMO, having worked in some really well thought out sequences and visual motifs throughout the film. The visual fx are among the best I've seen and the apes really do seem real. Movie magic of the highest order.

Like Alien and Aliens, the film excels in realism. I hope they don't rush to the future-astronaut/reboot of the Chuck Heston original, because this journey really is more interesting than the destination we've already been to. I think they could play another couple of movies depicting the rise of apes/fall of man if the filmmakers can sustain the level of detail and believability of spiralling estrangement of species. I really hope they keep the writing team and director on board.

I read a review sayin it's a great B movie. It's not a B movie, it's an A+ movie.
