I first heard this on FB. This came as devastating news and a complete shock. Although I had only had two meetings with her at D-Con, her passing deeply saddened me. As I said on FB, my heart goes out to Mark (Switzer) and Heidi's Family.

A memorial service is being held in Maryland on Wednesday evening, from 7-9pm. Mark requested that friends wear blue tomorrow in her honor - it was her favorite color. So please, if you would like, wear a little something blue for Heidi tomorrow.

Although Heidi and I had not costumed Colonial Marine for several years, we continued to support and follow this page and look forward to the reunion at DragonCon each year with many of the friends in this community. We had intended to sport a couple of Nostromo outfits for DragonCon 2014.

Over the past two weeks, I have received an outpouring of love and support, for myself, for her family, but more importantly, kind thoughts and words for my beautiful Heidi, describing the light she brought to everyone she knew. Her service was attended by over 450 people and the line to pay her respects stretched down the block for an hour and a half. She never would have believed the lives she touched would care so much about her and the people she loved. She made a difference in so many lives.

Please remember her at your drops; raise a glass to her memory and thank you for the support.
