...it would appear that Margaret Thatcher wasn't very well liked. A few people on my FB were making comments, and someone posted this youtube video from that very funny show "spitting image". Anyway...it ties in with this forum...you'll see.

She's dead, she ain't getting any deader and- wish as some might- no-one can go back in time and change what happened during her tenure.

Quaff champagne to the rousing sounds of the Internationale or cry bitter tears of grief into a balled-up Daily Mail, and the outcome is identical....Which seems to be the point everyone has missed as they froth about The Miners Strike or The Falklands.

She took my free milk, but if it wasn't for her, I wouldn't have known about these guys:

Rockhopper penguins, vicious wee toerags, though I once saw a grown man scream because a Macaroni penguin (honestly) put the bite on his 'junk' and surprisingly they can bite really hard:)

I missed my school milk, it was the only reason I went;)

Thing I don't get is people were having parties and celebrating her death because she "had some unpopular policies".

Well, boo-hoo. They should be thankful they didn't live under the Argentinian Junta, or under Idi Amin, Saddam Hussain, or many other totalitarian regimes. We lost free school milk, they had parents disappear because they may have disagreed with the government.

She introduced the Poll Tax, we had riots. In other countries, these rioters could have found themselves put down by the army using live rounds, tanks and even airstrikes.

Margaret Thatcher did a lot of good for this country. Like most politicians, she also did a lot of bad. Not exactly my favourite historical figure, but I won't be organising any party to celebrate her demise.
