The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

She's lovely, Steve!!

Not here yet.

@Glenn: Most of the DVDs are now on the shelves in the front room. Other stuff is either recycled or in the drawers/cupboards below where Serenity's gonna sit.

UPS tried to deliver the BDR today whilst I was at work, so have now arranged for it to be delivered on Tuesday. £94.81 in charges to pay on delivery, which isn't as bad as I feared they might be. :-)

Colleague at work suggested I use one of the Serenity Blueprints as a backdrop, rather than the plain white wall.

I've put the A2-ish sized sheet in a borderless frame and it looks really good. 8)

Using this one:

I've just measured the blueprint pic and the Serenity on that pic is less than an inch longer than the BDR itself.

That model's huge! :D

Anyone else with the blueprints (not the reference pack/book, the actual sheet blueprints), go and open that page up, then imagine holding that size of Serenity model in your hands. 8)

8) Beautiful.

Can I suggest Moving the poster from directly behind it though?
I personally think it detracts from the display of the Serenity itself, I mean with something that good you want to see it in all it's full beauty.

My colleague at work suggested a mirror at the back and one under the base, so I may do that once I find suitable mirrors, although the blueprint's nice to identify bits of the model. :)

I have clanger68 to thank, as he told me about the prototype BDR on the QMx stand in the dealer room at D*Con last year. 8)

Latest officially licensed replica from QMx is the Limited Edition Malcolm Reynolds Pistol Holster:

http://store.quantummechanix.com/Firefl ... _p_96.html

Costs $300 though, which is $120 more than an unofficial (and slightly less SA) one available on eBay.

I'll be keeping my unofficial one. 8)

Yup, it's all clanger68's fault. :D 8)

Every time I'm sitting in my armchair watching TV and glance up at Serenity, I feel warm and fuzzy. :)

One prop replica item I've wanted for ages was the Serenity Ship Papers set from QMx.
I wasn't that into collecting props when they were first on sale, so missed getting them.
Rather like the Pulse meter watch, I've been regularly checking eBay for them, but never saw them for sale once.

Yesterday I posted on the QMx Facebook page about the latest item added to my collection; Serenity keychains:

Image

In that post I mentioned I was still after the Ship Papers set.

I then received a private message from Jimin St Louis, a fellow Browncoat who also has a Big Damn Replica, who I've been FBing and Tweeting with since we both got our BDRs. :)

He sent me a link to an eBay auction which included the Ships Papers. It had only 5 hours left on it to take bids and hadn't received any bids at that time.

I placed a bid (the starting price on the auction, then waited to see if I won.
The auction finished after midnight and I needed to go to bed early, as I was helping out the llama park at an event today, so I wouldn't know I'd won until I got home a couple of hours ago. I won! :D

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0480087288

Now, Jim could have kept quiet and bid on the auction himself, then maybe sold each item off separately, with maybe me getting the papers, possibly at an inflated price. But he didn't. A true Browncoat. 8)
