The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Never stand in front of the fire that's currently burning the "Corpse" of the baddie you just "Killed".
Doing so serves only to illustrate the lethal nature of quotation marks.

No no, I understood the "never" part- just trying to recall two sci fi characters that did that and ended up toast. Dizzy was the first to come to mind.

Well... the only one actually.

Ah, I was thinking of Horror films in general and not specifically SF. Everyone knows in a "regular" horror film you never have sex. It's the kiss of death. :)

Alas poor Dizzy. Too bad it wasn't Ibanez who got killed.
Maybe Rico will have better luck in the next film.

Word. After all, he's never made it without biting.

He was a mascot for Tootsie roll pops back in the 80's.. The gimmick being he always tried to figure out how many licks it would take to get to the center...but always ended up biting into the damn thing after 3 licks. This after "borrowing" the pop from some random kid

A Tootsie roll is a kinda chewy chocolate candy. Usually eaten on it's own but sometimes located inside a lollipop giving you something to lick towards I suppose. I'm with the Owl, never patient enough to wait. I didn't borrow mine like he did though.

How about this for "How to survive"

Always be Jeff Goldblum. :D

Wait- he didn't make it in the 70s version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers didn't he?

OK how about this- when lifesigns are discovered where no life should exist- just keep going.
