The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Yup, it's all clanger68's fault. :D 8)

Every time I'm sitting in my armchair watching TV and glance up at Serenity, I feel warm and fuzzy. :)

I hope it's the BDR that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy, .........and not thinking about me!

PVB, I don't think I have congratulated you on here yet, but that is one fantastic model of Serenity, really something quite special.

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR BIG DAMN REPLICA, SHE IS AN ABSOLUTE BEAUTY!. :D

I am so glad I pointed you in the right direction at Dragoncon, but that is all I did, you have done all the work after that! (0h, I guess QMX had a little to do with it as well  )

I don't know what it is about the Serenity, quite an awkward shape but she just looks so right.

Hopefully I will get to see her in person one day.

Love the custom touch of the primary buffer panel, makes yours even more special.

Also love all your recent acquisitions as well, quite a hoard you're getting together. :)

Cheers,

Andy

Thank you.

We will have to set a photo shoot with your BDR and my Leaf on the Wind! :D

Wash and Serenity reunited, we'll just have to make sure there are no long pointed shafts of wood to be seen!

I see Forbidden Planet are doing it for £250.
Might be a good option for the UK, less postage I'd imagine, and no possible damn customs charges.

I wasn't that into collecting props when they were first on sale, so missed getting them.
Rather like the Pulse meter watch, I've been regularly checking eBay for them, but never saw them for sale once.

Slight problem; looks like the whole lot's got 'lost' in the post. :?

According to USPS tracking, the parcel left the US for GB on 3rd June, but no more updates since then.

No letter/card received by me from either a UK carrier or Customs to say they're holding it. :|

Have notified the seller and he's going to check with USPS and will have to issue a refund if they can't locate it.

I've had this happen many times when shipping gifts to the family....it can be sat in a Royal Mail office for weeks before being moved.

I'd say be patient, but its already been over a month...but I think contacting the seller and sorting stuff out is a good idea.

that's awesome.

I'm watching Firefly for the first time, and on the second episode "The Train Job" - are the Alliance guards on the train wearing refurb'ed mobile infantry armour?

It looked familiar, and the helmets made me flash intersect style on Starship troopers, but i'm watching low quality, so can't tell for sure!
[sorry if this is a thread derail]

The whole thread's for Firefly/Browncoat/Serenity stuff, so it's not a derail. :)

Yup, the outfit's a slightly altered (purple armour plating, etc.) Starship Troopers Mobile Infantry costume. 8)

I knew it!

Also, I'm totally going to have a lengthy nerdgasm of a post when i've watched the rest of the series, I kinda derailed into firefly myself, [having seen serenity a while back] wanting more adam baldwin action whilst I wait for more chuck.

Ben Mund, he who created the QMx Atlas of The Verse, has just Tweeted a new Firefly/Serenity desktop wallpaper. 8)

This one's 1680x1050 (to suit huge widescreen monitors), so I've asked for a 1280x1024 version for those of us with older machines. :)

having now watched all episodes, I have one question

Why the hell did they cancel this, but we get a decade of buffy the sodding vampire slayer? I also want a Hat just like Jaynes. It's really very upsetting to watch it, because you can see so many of the hooks they threaded into the show to bring up later [Hands of blue, Rivers... I dunno, telepathy? among others] and then it just got cancelled.

I expect Early would of eventually showed up again too. which is good, I liked him.
