The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

So I wear my tags daily and the paint is being sweated off from years of wear.

What's the best way to refill/repaint them and what do I do with the paint still in the tags?

If the lettering is decently deep, just scrape out the old paint with a pin and repaint it with a fine tip modelling brush. Acrylic paint should be fine.

I was going to suggest just diluting the paint and dabbing it in the grooves. The surface tension of the liquid should make it crawl in the creases pretty evenly on its own. Wipe the tag surface with something soft (but not "too soft" so that the rag/papertowel also goes into the grooves) to remove excess paint from the tag surface. Repeat as necessary to build up the groove deposits.
