Hi everyone! Just joined here after i saw a video of a marine at PAX, anyways my name is Ian, I am currently in the making of a predator movie(where I am using colonial marines). I am having some troubles with it, I can buy the plastic suit from a website called goldenarmor.com, but the props are a little harder. i make mine out of Styrofoam and only have 2 pulse rifles made. I really want to make a smartgun, so if anyone has blueprints/tutorials for a decent priced prop, PLEASE help! Anyways cant wait to meet a few of you and cant wait to hear what you guys have to say!

There are better places to get your armour than Golden Armour whether they are cheaper but quality and value for money will certainly be better. I'll leave others with first hand experience to fill you in on details!

Can you share what your film's about? I mean, basic plot?

Check out spatcave.com for armor. I believe there's another armor maker in Florida, and one in Canada as well,
but I'm unsure of their quality.

I also think user "Honcho" has a DIY armor kit left in stock, you could contact him for more info.

Depending on how crunched for time you are, you could always scratch build your armor from pepakura or even
plastic bins. One of our members made a really nice suit of marine armor from plastic bins/tubs. He has a thread
on the forum detailing his build.

Any pictures of your foam pulse rifles?

My movie is about a platoon going missing and another is sent in to find them, of course like every predator movie, everyone gets picked off. i am also a part of thehunterslair.com, where i have been building my suit. the props are easy to make other than the smartgun in my opinion. i only have 2 pulse rifles made, they have some nice details just not every single inch of it. the movie takes place probably over 2 days. no clue how long itll be until it is finished:P i will take a look at other sites for armor:)
