The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

No, a service number is constant regardless of promotion, name change, marital status of sexual reassignment surgery!

Sorry Ken, there's no MWO in the Marine Corps. The equivalent would be a Master Sergeant or First Sergeant.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S._Marine_Corps_enlisted_rank_insignia

There are however 5 levels of Warrant Officers in the Marine Corps, but they are not NCOs as we know ours to be.

Think about it and get back to me.

Why is it whenever anything international involves americans, we have to follow their standard? No wait, no one answer that. Too political and we just do as we're told. Master Sergeant it shall be.

We follow their standard because they're our staunch allies and closest friends. I can think of a dozen more ideas, but this is not the forum for it.

The stylings and traditions of the Colonial Marines are based on the US Marine Corps. This is why the rank system of the USCM resembles it.

Because they have an independently targeting particle beam phalanx (Vwwap!! - Fry half a city with that puppy), tactical smart missiles, phased-plasma pulse rifles, RPGs, sonic ee-lectronic ball breakers, nukes, knives and sharp sticks...

Whereas, thanks to the VCRA, we in the UK just about still have harsh language.
That's why

You choose your own rank- you can be anything you want.

Just don't let it go to your head, we're not going to take orders from you regardless if you make yourself a 4 star general.

A few members are actually in the military and use their real rank. Some of those same members still have made up their own fictional rank as they felt their actual rank was either too high or too low.

Personally my rank is an extension of a nickname I had in highschool in the 1980s. Everyone called me Sergeant Burton or Sarge (even my teachers), because I wore a camouflage BDU top to school everyday (I was also in the Air Cadets- but that's a seperate story).

In 2002 I found this website (when it was known as Alien Archive) and put together my first USCM uniform. I figured since I was a Sergeant as a teenager it was time for a promotion. Hence I became Staff Sergeant Burton.

So pick any rank you want. But honestly we have far too many corporals.

Kevin

Thanks for the clarification SSgt Burton, that's pretty much what I thought. Btw, when I was in HS, we still had a "dress code", if you can believe that. If we'd worn anything military to school back then (Vietnam War was still in full swing) we'd have gotten our butts booted outta there! LOL

A couple of our PE teachers must've been ex-Marines, 'cause they had us dress for PT like boot camp recruits, and they did their best to act like DIs... I **** you not. Guess they were trying to get us prepared for the "inevitable" or something. Anyway, the draft changed to a lottery system my last year of HS, and that war ended a couple of years later. Strange times those were. :delta:

Good evening Sgt,

Respectfully request a colonial marine service number. I see that officer ranks aren't too popular around here :? , but put me down for O-4 to reflect my rank in real-life.

A) Major
B) GA
C) xx/xx/xxxx
D) xxxxx, USA
E) Exo95er

Thanks and happy new year!
