Well, After coming down to it and not offically shot the other. Anyone with experience give me a helping hand with which would be sutiable for myself. M15A4 SPC or MP5 SD5 Now as far as i know they both allow the High-clips. The M15 goes upto 550rnds but unsure about its FPS And the once and common one i've shot is the MP5 SD5 which is more comfortable but still very short of rounds but can be updated with two 200rnds with a magazine clamp. I know it's what suits me but would a AK47 or a M16 carbine be a positive yes for rounds and FPS Just looking for the best rounds and FPS Cheers Callum |

Classic Army used to be known for their reliability, but not so much nowadays. A Tokyo Marui will shoot around 260 to 280 though, and is always a good choice. G&G makes some fantastic airsoft guns though, as well. I'd avoid CA at all costs. Another thing to note, is don't worry about magazines. Every airsoft gun out there, aside from a very small few, will have TONS of magazines available. Round capacity might be an issue for you, but many players don't use highcaps, and instead use ~100 round midcaps, and some guys even play with realcap mags. |

Aye, as i've heard Ste. This one is 300FPS. The game site in Neston. Only allows upto 300FPS. What i've been told. I might be alright. The problem with the M15A4 SPC is the upgrades. People have been told that the general life of the M15A4 SPC will eventually die-off. Thanks Fox, i'll Check some of G&G's stuff. Cheers Callum |

Actually it's the sportline series that started the idea that CA's arn't reliable. You make a cheap AEG that's what you get. The full price items are still great. Ive got both a CA M15A4 Tac Carbine and a CA MP5. (I have both solid and Retractable stocks) The MP5 motor has finally died after 4 years of Fraz abuse and it was a hire gun before that. |

After having several years of experience on the field, and a somewhat extensive knowledge of airsoft; I can safely say that CA's just aren't reliable. Their reliability issues started with some of the later Armalite variants, as well as their AUG, SLR105 and G36's having some pretty common problems; all released before their Sportline sereis. I know 2 guys who had some pretty bad wiring on their CA Armalites, and busted tappet plates in the Armalites and SCARs are also common. Now, some of their guns which were for sale even 4 years ago, were quite nice. The reliability issues have however, surfaced over the past 2 to 2.5 years. It's sad, it sucks, but it's true. I'd recommend you grab a Tokyo Marui if you have a strict 300 fps cap. Anything else is going to shoot over 300 fps, which will be a problem if you're not willing to go inside of a gearbox. |

i got to agree there. i fix a hell of alot of guns for people, and classic army is probably the one i come across most. in fact, i have 3 in the workshop right now waiting for new pistons. |

Yep, if you're just starting out, go for the M16 family or AK's. Personally, I have field skirmished with MP5s and it does take a different mindset. Just remember, Short controlled bursts. And no, I wasn't actually quoting the film there. When I was regularly skirmishing I made one high cap mag (200 rounds) last most of a day just with controlled firing. CA's guns have always been kind of hit or miss really. Their early 2000's MP5s had mag wells that were too loose, so you could actually drop a magazine without doing anything. Bad thing to happen in a firefight. ICS's Early MP5's were okay (They're up to generation 3 or 4 now...) but their 1st gen M4's were one of the worst guns ever made. Russ |

And might I add that if it comes with plastic vinyl bushing, replace them with metal ones as the plastic vinyl bushings will melt after a short time. I found that out the hard way after they melted in my AUG which, also stripped some teeth from the gears in the gearbox. Not very reliable over the long term, as I've had to replace most of the parts in the gearbox and re-wire some of it. If your worried about FPS get either an M90 or a 1 Joule spring, they will have your gun firing around 300 to 333 FPS, but remember that installing a tighter barrel and modified gears set will increase the FPS, not considerably, just enough to take your gun over certain site FPS limits. |

Tight bore barrel also increases the risk of a BB jam if you get a batch of bad BBs. Been there, done that, tossed out half a case of BBs. Russ |

Along the lines of what Foxhound said, I'd recommend skipping the High-cap magazines and find some low caps, they'll sometime come in a box set of 8 or 10. You might have a tougher time keeping up with higher-end airsofters with box magazines and acog scopes on their semi-auto sniper rifles, but you will probably have more fun with the increased realism.
