I must confess that, whilst this is my first post here, its not my first visit to this forum.
And Uber Kudos for the most helpful info and mind boggling stuff you guys have come up with AND actually make!
I've been playing Airsoft for a couple of years and have been digging around on the net trying to find and source everything needed for, Yes you guessed it, my own working Airsoft M41A Pulse Rifle.
Well I started out enthusiastic which, when I started researching, dwindled away slowly with every click of the mouse.
However, with a little luck I have managed to get a TM M1A1 Thompson AEG, upgrade the gearbox internals & source a relatively cheaper Pulse Rifle Kit from Comet Minatures, whom I found from a link on M41A.com. This one doesn't come with an ammo counter but I soon sourced that. And in a couple of months I'll eventually get a Tanaka M870.
Anyway, I'll get to my point.
I started to think that the best possible way to get a working M41A Pulse Rifle AEG, I'd have to make one from scratch. The biggest problem being the SPAS 12 Cage and how to fabricate it!?
I'm sure it was on this forum that someone built one by moulding a piece of PVC Drain Pipe around a wooden model. I hastily wrote down the measurements of the SPAS Cage, but I forgot to bookmark the web page before shutting my PC down.
However, through a series of guesses and general deduction. I've managed to make a drawing of the SPAS 12 cage, though I'm still not sure if I have the correct sizes and most of it is based on guess work and the general dimensions of the Tanaka M870 that I had the privilege of trying out at my local Airsoft site that I frequent.
So if you guys could correct me where I've gone wrong, that would be most appreciated. And I've drawn it as a flattened handguard, rather than just a side view.
All the measurements are in millimeters (mm).

I've also found a dude on YouTube who made a working bolt mod for the M1A1 Thompson AEG.
All you need is a wire coat hanger and either some fishing line or some nylon ribbon type-stuff-that-I-don't-know-the-name-of, a screwdriver or something with a long thin head and a sharp point and a pair of pliers.
However, there are a few risks of jams, the bolt/charging handle return spring is a bit weak and a general knowledge of the Version 6 AEG gearbox would help.
