M870 plastic barrel, plastic insert (to hold the spring and brass airsoft barrel as the outer plastic barrel is cut down) £5

10 x 25mm New Alloy plate COUNTER SINK for S.P.A.S grip £3.50

Hello to all.

I have machined up all the racking keys.

I have got only one racking arm done as I been waiting for DEN Trinity to supply them to me. If you got a set that have not be cut please send them to me and I will cut them for you.

Need to get some M4 counter sink screw and just need to machine plates.

This is due to the fact that the plates are counter sink and I been using domed heads. Please can people tell me if they want counter sink plate or domed plate. Price is the same.

I been working weekends and evenings on these part as I did this night. I do work for 8am to 5PM Mondays to Friday and got other thing to do.

I am trying to get these parts done as soon as possible and trying to do other projects for myself and other people at the same time so please give me time.

OK people I have done the racking keys and tomorrow will have the plates done.

Just got them counter sink and setting up the CNC mill to mill the 25 x 10 mm profile. Made up a jig to hold the plates to do this.

Sorry for the delay but been busy.

Here are some photos or the racking keys and a photo of the racking arms cut to length with the racking key screw to it.

I just need to get the screw as I got to get a few.

Here are the racking keys there were done on the CNC mill.

Racking arm cut to length with ring and racking key. I replace the two "U" shape clips with M3 domed head screw and nylon lock nut. This make is a solid frame and make the G/L smooth.

OK the plate are all done and I got the M4 socket counter sink screws.

I made the plates out of Alloy and not stainless steel due to counter sink hole. As the only steel is 304 that pain in the ass to drill a hole so I slot drill them and alot worst to counter sink it.

So I used alloy as I used a over size strip of alloy and counter sink the holes and than using a silting saw cut the plates out. Than using a fixed on the CNC mill I milled the profile 10 x 25mm. Plus 304 is a pain to mill and alloy is a lot better.

When I did the list of the plate I was only going to drill the 4mm hole only. But just to the fact counter sink screw were used I change to suit but I needed to change how I did the plate.

I will be add a photo of the plates and "racking arm kit" on tomorrow.

I will be PM people tonight.

Thank you for your time in this.

That racking assembly is great! Well done!

Do you think it could be modded to work with the Tanaka 870?

Hello Russ.

I do not know how the Tanaka works without buying one.

But I see no reason why the key and plate would not fit.

The only thing is that the key is 7mm long as this fit on the ring ring and sit flush with cage so the S.P.A.S grip is square next to it. So it could be too short or too long.

Does the Tanaka have to same sort of arms and ring?

Need detail photos of the arms and what it looks like inside the S.P.A.S cage.

I have been making prop replicas and building monster models for many, many years and I just have to say how incredibly lucky this group is to have talented machinists in our midst who are willing to do this caliber of work. Do they get paid for it--of course, but there are many groups of prop enthusiasts who cannot, for any sum, get this kind of work done in relatively small runs for such a specialized market.

Thanks to all you guys who are able to turn an impossibly complex build into a fun kit assembly within the reach of people without a machine shop in their basement! I also think this speaks to the incredible attractiveness, on so many levels, of the pulse rifle, itself. Thanks, Mr. Cameron, et al!

It's been in transit since the 13th. I imagine it will be any day now as it just hit Minneapolis finally.

I shouldn't complain as traditionally I've had good service from UPS... and Derek (USCMGrunt) works there. ;)
