The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Post subject: Metal Upgrades to G&P?

Well,

I have finally managed to get a G&P kit, should be here end of this week/early next week and a cybergun thompson.

I dont skirmish or anything like that so this will be mainly for display but i was still thinking about upgrading as many parts as i can to metal such as barrel vent, stock, the front block at the grenade launcher etc.

Just wondering has anyone attempted upgrading it before and seen what has and has not worked. I think i will leave the spas and GL area alone for the moment.

I couldnt find much on the search other than the stock would take a bit of reworking (either that or i am blind).

Cheers
Karl

I've upgraded mine with SD studios stock, barrel vent + triangle.

The light gate is the problem on the front. Forum member- DATA

(Steven P.) has a great solution. He's in the process of making

some parts.

Between DATA, Friendlyskies, and I... we probably have the most
heavily modified G+P kits out there.

I can point out some upgrades to the plastic spas cage if you are
interested.

Ah Cheers MNoble.

Would be much appreciated. After all, no harm in trying to make it as close to the real PR as can be. SD studios eh, might have to try get in contact with them if they are still making the parts.

I will have to keep an eye out for what DATA puts together. Have the Thompson beside me and itching to start:P

Just a quick question, has anyone tried to fit one of the Phil S GL front blocks onto the G&P front?

Cheers

I haven't, but if it's any help, here's my G&P build page for that area:

http://www.medwaypvb.com/pulse7.html

Here's a BIG image from that page, showing what the end of the GL looks like, and how the G&P block fits on the end of the very thin plastic GL:

Ah cheers for the link! And an advanced thanks for putting up such a great guide!:D

Judging from the pics the screws etc are all in the same position, and just as i have been told, a bit of dremeling might be needed but looking at the pics it can be done.

Worst case scenario I dont attach the block and I have piece number one for a hero build.. (any excuse eh:P)

Thanks!

Ta. :)

I'm due to order the Phil. S. block in the near future, so will be able to see how it'd fit on the end of the GL anyway, although mine is going onto the end of the real Spas 12 cage. 8)

Nice!

Dont tempt me by mentioning real steel spas cage...am too tempted to get rid of the g&p one completely and try to mount a real one on it but thats construction beyond my level

If your adding your cage to a g&p kit i will be keeping a close eye on it and copying everything!:P

Nah, it's going to be the existing G&P PR stripped back to just the Thompson, then the airsoft Maruzen 870 fitted inside the Spas 12 cage.

Got resin/ali dust shrouds on order from Matsuo at the moment, hoping that eventually I'll be able to get real metal shrouds to finish off the 'Hero' Pulse Rifle. 8)

Very very nice. I'll be bookmarking that. Seeing how the cages can turn out I am in two minds about it.

Alu/Resin shrouds, proper GL area, future metal shrouds....you do know i now hate you :P Seriously though will be keeping an eye on how the build goes:) Cheers for the link

This is how I fixed my S.P.A.S cage to the TM M1A1 and see had the G&P counter working.

Cheers for that pic Steve. From the looks of it with mods the SPAS could be modded to work with the g&p kit. I wouldnt know where to start but will keep it in mind. Is that attached to a kit or custom build if you dont mind me asking? I would imagine the grip that came with the plastic spas wouldnt fit the real spas tho

All the Alloy is a custom made to fit the real S.P.A.S 12 cage and the TM M1A1 airsoft.

I do not know if the G&P Plastic grip would fit the real S.P.A.S 12 cage. But the way that they fix together is different as the G&P screw under the grip and does not have the two running slots at the side.
