The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

 Post subject: Suitable Remington? - GP-SG-SG003 G&P M870 OR

I've seen found this online:

GP-SG-SG003 G&P M870 OR

and was wondering if this is suitable as for the grenade launcher. Does this fit into a SPAS cage?

Thanks

If you mean this one:

http://www.fire-support.co.uk/store/com ... oduct=2212

Then that is a G&P(Maruzen) 870, so will be okay.

Are you sure PVB?

Looks like the spring shotgun (CA870) to me, not the gas gun (they say it comes with the 22rds magazine, which sounds like spring gun to me). The spring gun should work in a Pulse Rifle too, but you can't rack shells through it.

The springer compresses the spring when you pump the shotgun I believe, the gas one loads a shell and then uses gas to propel the BB(s) out.

I believe in order to rack shells or grenades, you'd have to get either a Tanaka M870 or a Maruzen M870 (the springers are usually called CA870, but to be sure: if a mag is included, it's the springer. Also, if you look at the pics of the link in PVBs post: the silver loading port for the shells is not curved like on the M870, but rather just flat, because it's the mag bottom).

The Maruzen ones are no longer produced as far as I know, but you can still find them used sometimes. The Tanaka are new, but they're more expensive. They are all metal though and seem to be closer to the real steel M870, at least in some aspects.

I think he's right. Up til this point all the magazine ones have had obvious mags. The G&P are modified versions with short mags to simulate the shell loading versions.

Tanaka's don't require a separte gas tank as it's included in the shell. Also as far as I know the Tanaka's are nearer to real steel dimensions, especially in terms of racking action and shell size.

Aah, right.

I saw it mention Maruzen System, G&P and thought it was the same as mine.

You can get replacement short mags that mimic the looks of the real deal to replace the overlong ones.
