AFAIK, the current crop of Chinese guns are really good for the money. However, many have very high f.p.s. (350+) as standard. |

Plenty of folks use the TM M1A1 as a PR base and the Chinese one is identical to the TM. I have one for a PR but haven't started it yet. SAS |

Cheer`s Si. Yea I know most use the TM M1A1 but she`s not cheap compared to the Chinese one. I didn`t know the Chinese one was at the same size (alas I`ve seen different compaines have different sizes for the same weapons in Airsoft). Again mate cheer`s & Look forward to seeing your`s when it`s finished mate ![]() Jason |

I have the ACM Thompson as the base for my PR - mainly as this is to be used as a prop more than a serious airsoft so the saving was well worth it: ![]() A friend of mine used the TM Thompson as the base for his and visually it's almost identical - it's the metal finish that looks slightly better - everything else is EXACTLY the same. The ACM is an exact clone of the TM basically. Now, I've fired my ACM and I think it's pretty damn fine, not quite as good/nice as my TM MP5A5 but I fear that I'm being fussy as everyone else is. It's really hard to think that something costing around a quarter of the price is as good as the "real deal". The true test will be when me and my mate get together and put them both to the test side by side! Oh; my ACM also came with sling, battery and speed loader as standard ![]() |

my ACM thompson is better internally than my TM! the chinese companies copy the TM exactly. And then, because they dont have to spend any time designing the gun, they can put their time into developing the gearbox ive even cast my TM M4 aside in favour of a Jing Gong one! with a few minor upgrades its an awsome weapon! |

i bought a TM M1A1 for my pulse rifle as i would use it for airsofting as well as a prop. if i ever make another PR i will buy the cheapest M1A1 there is...or just persuade my m8 nextdoor to give me his which is a ACM thompson. i paid $220 for my TM M1A1 and my m8 paid about $140 for his ACM plus 4 '420' hi cap mags. $80 dollars less and i didnt buy any mags ![]() ![]() as for your TM MP5A5. i got 1 too and i love it. its so accurate and light and it never lets me down, plus with my tactical sling i can just throw it over my shoulder to switch to my TM M3 super 90 ![]() ![]() |

Joe, for a beginner the guns packaged by Well seem to be okay (for the MP5's). Pretty much ANY of the guns made by JG (Jin-Gong (sp?) ) have gotten rave reviews for quality. As an example, you can get a JG FN2000 for around $120 or so, and it flat out beats any Marui gun for performance right out of the box. Again, the fit and finish of the cheap Chinese AEGs Isn't as nice as the TM, but again, they're half to 1/3 the price! I'll save $200 and live with having a shiny black upper receiver, over a flat black one. ![]() When I got back into airsoft in 1996-97, the old saying "You get what you paid for" was true regarding AEGs. You spent more, and got higher quality. Today... that saying is becoming less true with each passing year. Russ |

I got one of the JG G36c's and it's very good. Remember the get what you pay for clause. Keep it above the $100 mark and you will be ok...those low end AEG's in the $50 range operate more like the hopper fed mini's than the true AEG...failures are common and usually un-fixable. M |

Yep. Avoid anything you can buy at Walmart's airsoft section unless you're ONLY using it as a prop. Russ |

These would be for my boys. So the budget is $40-50, at most. I am looking at the "Mini Maxx" series for about $45 (inc shipping) They are lower power (170fps) and 3/4 size, yet still full auto. |

Wow i got one of these when i went away to the coast with my friend, onl the tip of the barrel wasnt orange. the only problem i had was that on the way back it must have gotten bashed in the car or something because the locking mechanism on the stock broke so it keeps sliding down. |

You probably know this already, but be sure to invest in some decent eye protection as well. A cheap full face paintball mask, such as those made by JT will work prefectly, and keep you from a trip to the emergency room... or dentist! Better safe than blind. Russ |

![]() Rook, I bought a whole case (10) of the full mesh masks. That way i have extras for any kid who comes over. I do know some people do not trust the mesh for high end airsoft guns. I am going to use one of the masks to test. I am curious to see what a fully upgraded ICS does to it with .25's at close range. |

The mesh masks work well overall. The only concerns people have had have been with "dusting." Sometimes a BB will hit and a microscopic amount of "dust" will come off the BB from the impact, which could enter the eye. Not a real huge problem though. Good to see you're thinking this all through ahead of time! Well done! Say, didn't you get a deal on an ICS MP5 a while back? The one with the "acid damage" on the side? I just scored a dead version 3 MP5 for $50. ![]() Took me 2 hours or so to get the mechbox running, but it works fine now. ![]() Russ |
