Post subject:  fitting remington to SPAS cage

Hi guys, this is my first post on this forum.

I ve spent the past few months getting parts together for an all metal PR build. Got a TM thompson, real SPAS cage and a G & P PR kit. Together with other bits and pieces I bought from Phil S in the States. I've bought a Tanaka Remington 870 which i hope will remove the gas bottle problem as the gas is held in the shells. Has anyone taken one apart?

I done a very basic test fit in the SPAS cage and short of cutting the barrel to length and taking off the stock the only thing to I can see to dismantle is the pump grip assembly which need to be attached to the SPAS grip to rack the thing. Am I way off here or is a more comprehensive dismantle required and if so can anyone help.

From what i hear, the Tanaka is as close to a real steel M870 as there is, that was my first choice before getting hold of a deac M870.

Theres another member here (Bug Stomper) who i think is using the Tanaka in a PR build, dont know how far hes got but i think he might be your best bet regarding strip down, but as far as i know, it will strip down just like the real thing.
