Found this online:

Would such a box be a bad idea for the mg56a smart gun?

Not sure the USCM have that big a connection to the Nazis but if it works it works ;) ;)

I think someone has made a crate for their smarty but I can’t remember who it was.

My own M56 ended up several inches longer than the stock MG42, so I am pretty sure (mine anyway) would not fit. I ended up using a snow board carry bag for transporting it.

I have a Matsuo M56, which breaks down into two pieces. I bought one of these and use it for transport:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00TY ... UTF8&psc=1

There is enough room in there for the gun and stabilizer arm. I have a separate container I carry the armor in.

Second that! Both size vise and for the used label I would not reccomand using this box.
Using a wodden box with the right dimensions as such (apart from the weight) would work.

It's Matt [Crashdown] I beleive the crate is custom made with mounts inside to support the smartgun, and UKCM markings on the outside. It even has wheels at one end!

US/UKCM markings on a similar case would be fine, but yeah... I'd have issues if anyone showed up to a con with Nazi insignia anywhere on their gear!
We take great pride in being an inclusive group; and homophobia, transphobia, racism and bigotry are emphatically not welcome; display of nazi iconography could very easily give the wrong idea, even if there's no deliberate ill-intent.

Shape-wise, that crate design would be fine, assuming your muzzle and stock were removable - My smartgun being built on a de-ac, both unscrew just as with the original gun.
I usually just use a bass-case to carry mine though. ( With straps round it, because I don't fully trust even 4 little clasps to keep it shut, given how bloody heavy it is! )

I've a Pelican 1770 for mine. It's a beast, but it is long enough, and has wheels too.
Bought it cheap without foam, which in hindsight was a mistake as sourcing foam is painful (and expensive).

I once made a custom foam insert for my pulse rifle; I misted the inside of the peli case ( knockoff ) with water, made a cardboard blank in the shape of my rifle and covered it in cling-film, sprayed some expanding foam into the dead space around it, and topped the lot off with a piece of weighted plywood.

Looked a bit rough but did the job well!
