paradoxum wrote: @warhammer - is this right for splicing in the sensor wires? if yes I'll add some solder to the connections and wrap with electrical tape before rebuilding the gearbox. https://imgur.com/a/iVKkU5q I really cant follow the wire paths as the picture osnt in enough focus around the wires and some of the wires are shrouded. |

Should I be using the single-wire trigger sensor or the double one with my wiring setup? does it really make a difference? https://imgur.com/a/0Judbv1 The picture you had shows the black o-shaped bushings. I also see the anti-reversal latch in the bag on the left, but there should have been a tensioner spring with it as well. As far as the trigger wites go, look at Gates website for the instal and feature instructions, and it will tell you evrrythi g you need to figure what works best for your application. Thanks I have a tiny spring in a bag it might not have shown up in the pics, pretty sure I have everything - I looked at the manual for the nanoaab and I really don't know what I should do, will it make any difference if I use two wires when I should use one sensor wire? I can't figure it out. You've got all the pics of my build from the wiring from the trigger to the battery in this thread, should I use the double or single? I used engine degreaser on the entire gearbox so the whole thing needs re-greasing/oiling, I don't suppose anyone has any links to GOOD (clear, good quality) videos of someone rebuilding this gearbox on youtube? I've found a few but most of them the guys hands are in the way or the quality is so bad I can't see what is going on. Ready to rebuild it right now, this is how I wired the sensor up (no solder yet because I dunno if it'll work); https://i.imgur.com/wT6XLq3.jpg bottom wires go to the motor wires from trigger to the battery |

I am not a fan of how the positive wire to deans looks; from what I can see, it looks like you just touched one end to another to their tips (might be because of graininess of the picture. I try to either mesh the wires together, or twist them around each other, to guarantee a better contact before soldering. Im a nitpicker when it comes to that. As far as one wire or two, might as well do both. The Evike V6 gearbox video is about as good of a video as I have seen, there is one guy who I cant remember his name, that videoed an upgrade of a King Arms Thompson, you can also look at videos of P90 gearboxes as the internal work is the same; the biggest dif’ is the trigger assy, the way the motor is put together to the GB, and the cut-off lever. Most gearboxes are very similar in build techniques, the V6 has an advantage of an external trigger to not muck up working on the gearbox internals like a V2 and some others. Having an external trigger just makes so much more sense (IMHO). Do resist from swapping out the cylinder head and air nozzle as if you dont get a manufacturer matched pair, you are likely to make a worse seal at that area. I wouldn't mess with the gears unless it is entirely necessary. I would recommend a good shimming job but it is something that isnt easy for a beginner (the first time I tried, I overshimmed and blew a fuse because the shimming was too tight and overloaded the circuit). The biggest thing I like to do is use Brasso on the cylinder, and polish to hell out of the inside and out. I also Brassoed the inside of the gearbox wherever any moving parts come in contact with it. |

What I did, was cut the plastic sheath from the wiring about 1CM in length, poked a hole through the wiring inside, and then threaded the sensor wire through it and wrapped it around - it's a good connection and when I add solder and wrap it in electrical tape will be fine. Quote: I would recommend a good shimming job but it is something that isnt easy for a beginner (the first time I tried, I overshimmed and blew a fuse because the shimming was too tight and overloaded the circuit). I have looked at a few guides on shimming, and from what I can tell, all I am doing is adding small washers to the cogs in the gearbox so that they align properly, but not too tight and not too loose - it seems very very basic and simple compared to everything else - I think when I took the gearbox apart, I got maybe 6 shims out of it, and I bought an SHS shim pack which has 30 different shims in it, I'm sure I would be able to 'shim' it fine as long as I stick to around the same amount as what I took out(?). Quote: The biggest thing I like to do is use Brasso on the cylinder, and polish to hell out of the inside and out. I also Brassoed the inside of the gearbox wherever any moving parts come in contact with it. which is the cylinder part? I've got a lot of different cleaning chemicals and some wire brushes etc, various grits of sandpaper, a whole toolshop really - I can see on the parts where contact has been made already after playing with it that I know to lube down - easy guide I go by is = plastic = silicon oil, metal on metal = grease, which has worked perfect for me with my GBB pistols (1911 and P226 X-Five), but the gearbox has some metal parts contacting plastic parts, what oil/grease/lube should be used there? (eg the piston). If I setup my webcam and get on Discord/Twitch or something, would you be able to text-chat walk me through rebuilding it for half an hour sometime with it on camera and you watching? I really want to get it sorted soon so I can go and play again. I got a new gun, an M870 shottie which I've mounted on my back in a holster ("I like to keep this handy... for close encounters"), but after test shooting it in the yard it's so good it could be used as a primary! But I would rather have the PR and that as secondary with sidearm and tornado grenade / claymore as utilities etc. Thanks again WH |

Para’, Finally found the ammo counter kit: https://airsoftgogo.com/en/product/prod ... -rifle-aeg If you blow the picture up on the leads, you can see where the sensors are, and how the are soldered together, worst case, you could buy a new kit for it. As far chat time goes, November isnt good for me, my work has me hopping busy, and I am limited in down time once I get home right now (personal stuff). I can try and catch up with you probably in December, when things mellow out; I havent even had time to work on my Pulse Rifle or my Thompsons. |

I saw that same site / picture myself - I wired it up the same way but I test fired it (when my gearbox was together) and the counter didn't go down, so I probably just need to swap a couple wires over. Pretty sucky for the price of the gun (like £300) and they use such thin wires on that part. I might try doing the rebuild today - I've got a lipo setup for the ammo counter working now leaving me more room in the magwell, I have the magazine feeder extension/rail on order, everything ready to be put back together really. Current 'workbench'; https://imgur.com/a/EofpsqS Someone on the airsoft UK forums says they're doing a guide and taking pics of each step for this version gearbox, so I'm waiting until they do that and then do it. About the piston though - the teeth on my piston are a bit worn, and I can only imagine it will get worse now I have a stronger spring + motor, what piston will replace the current one without having to change anything else like the gears etc? https://www.fire-support.co.uk/category ... ons--sets/ Should I just count the teeth on the current piston? (one sec.. 13 teeth on it) do I just buy another piston on there with 13 teeth? any specific one? what about the piston head or anything else in the gearbox? Thanks again dude. @this is what my 'workbench' looks like right now: https://imgur.com/a/EofpsqS Some more and some annotations; https://imgur.com/a/cQKm8T3 |

Alright I sat down and had a go myself tonight following these vids; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iLyjcbBgGtM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yshk6_RxpMI&t=1s But there are parts that these vids don't seem to show so I have no idea where they go and I have a couple spare bits. Take a look; https://imgur.com/a/PW454e1 |

I got on webcam on discord and voice chat and a friendly american dude helped me get it back together - so simple after doing it once and knowing what you're doing. still need to do some smaller things but pretty much sorted now I think. https://i.imgur.com/SPiOO9B.jpg |
