Hi Guys,
I just wanted to ask your opinion.
With the H&K VP70 (airsoft) becoming extremely difficult to get hold of, do you think this Gamo P-25 is a suitable replacement?
It's about the same length & similar in profile (imo).

Not using the standard issues sidearm is not that uncommon. From this point nothing that should stop someone from using a different one. If this alternative is fitting the standard holster great; better than using foam. Just keep in mind that for some events AirSoft guns would not be allowed (see also the UKCM point regarding this topic). |

Pretty cool and I think it does look like the 'newer version' of a VP. How big is it? The VP70 is deceptively large 'full size' sidearm, so if that one has enough meat to it then I could see it being a nice option. If it is closer in size to a PPK you may find it a bit small to scratch the itch of primary sidearm. That said, you don't really need approval either way! If you are happy then rock and roll and run with it. |

I do plan to put an orange bung in to barrel for Drops. |

From a UKCM perspective, we don't mind the use of airsofts as prop weapons. However, they must be without battery/gas for the mechanism (9V for the PR counter is fine), AND must be without ammunition. We don't demand orange tips. We are much more concerned about conduct of carrying and using props. Of course, event organisers may have additional rules - LSCC is the only UK event which encourages orange tips as far as I know. viewtopic.php?p=174925#p174925 |

I, personally, use an airsoft m1911 pistol for my sidearm. For events, I take the magazine out so that there is no issue with have real-working parts. Of course all ammunition is left at home and I keep the orange tip in place. I run a GI JOE club and I always insist on the orange tip remaining in place when toting realistic looking weapons in public. I had a Cobra costume that had me carrying an airsoft AK-47 prop. A Seattle cop noticed it, saw the orange tip and thanked me for keeping it in place, as it looked so realistic that it made him nervous at first. But each police agency is different, as are different countries views on weapon props. Best advice, always check in with your local law enforcement and conduct yourselves accordingly. |

Hi,the VP70 is 204mm long and 142mm high, and is only slightly smaller than a Beretta 92. So it`s still a reasonable size. |
